Amelia didn't say no.
Over the past few years, if it wasn't for Lucius, she wouldn't have been able to keep these two kids safe. Those were her kids, a boy-girl twin duo.The older one was Owen Tudor, and the younger one was Olivia Tudor.
They were the bright spots in her otherwise dark life, sticking with her through the roughest times.
Amelia quickly dialed up the nanny, DDora Hill.
The video call connected, and Olivia's little face popped up on the screen. She yelled. "Owen, hurry up, it's Mommy!"
In no time, a little guy about four years old showed up in the video. He had this composed look on his face, but even though he was small,he had a certain presence.
"Slow down," he said, worried, "Dora said you can't..."
"Stop talking and come see Mommy and Mr. Howard," Olivia said, pulling Owen over with her tiny hands. "Mommy, Mr. Howard, hi! Long time no see! I missed you so much, did you miss me?"
Olivia's sweet little voice melted Amelia's heart through the screen.
"Of course, I missed you the most, Olivia. Give me a kiss." Amelia brought the phone closer and kissed the screen.
Right then, she was her true self, happy like a kid.
Lucius watched her, his smile growing as he saw her so happy.
"Owen, say hi to Mommy," Olivia told Owen.
Owen, still looking calm, glanced at Olivia, a bit helpless. "I've been looking at Mommy."
Amelia laughed, "Owen, can you give me a smile? Mr. Howard and I both want to see you smile."
Owen struggled, and after a while, he managed a small smile that quickly faded from his little face.
"Mommy doesn't call often, and you don't smile. I don't like you anymore!"Olivia pouted, crossing her arms and glaring at Owen.
Amelia covered her mouth, laughing, and glanced at Lucius, who had a gentle look on his face.
Owen panicked and said to Olivia, "Hey, you know Mommy doesn't call often. Don't be mad. I won't be like that anymore."
Olivia immediately smiled.
The two kids were so different, one collected and the other lively. Amelia often wondered if genes were that powerful because Owen was like a mini Chris.
When hanging up, Amelia were loath to say goodbye to her lovely kids, but her mood was much better.
"They're really cute," Lucius said thoughtfully.
Amelia didn't quite get what he meant and replied, "Yeah, but they're not easy to handle. Mr. Howard, don't you remember? When they were little, they were a handful. You even sent someone to help mne take care of them,
and the babysitter had a tough time!"
Lucius looked at her softly but didn't say anything.
Amelia felt a bit awkward and changed the subject.
Recovering in the hospital was boring, so Amelia started a live stream on a small platform, painting.
She had tens of thousands of followers on this platform, so as soon as she went live. people started sending her virtual gifts.
Meanwhile, at a club in Pinecrest.
"What are you guys watching?" Nolan asked, seeing a few friends huddled in a corner, focusing on their phone screens.
"A streamer is live painting. It's pretty cool," one of his friends said casually.
Nolan grabbed his phone and leaned back on the sofa, a few people gathering around him.
On the screen, there was just a painting frame, a slender back, and a window with a nice view in the background.
Even though she was streaming, she hadn't said a word. The only sounds were her brush strokes and the occasional gift notification.
"What's so interesting about this?" Nolan handed the phone to Chris."
That back looks familiar, and that waist is so thin. If I could touch it, that'd be great."
Chris leaned back on the sofa, took the phone, and glanced at the screen.seeing the hands sketching seriously.
Suddenly, his face darkened, and he sat up straight.
The others, thinking Chris was interested, all pulled out their phones and sent a bunch of gifts to the streamer, filling the screen with special effects.
Amelia noticed and smiled gently, her soft voice coming through the phone.
"Thank you all."
Her voice seemed altered, but it was clear she was a gentle woman.
"She's got that kind of charm. Not bad, good at painting, sweet voice, she must be beautiful too," someone laughed.
They didn't notice Chris's face growing darker.
"Turn it off," he ordered coldly.
Everyone in the room was startled, looking at each other, but no one dared to disobey.
Leila, seeing this, walked over and sat next to him, "What's wrong,Chris?Something bothering you?"
She also noticed something was off. The live stream looked like it was in a hospital, and the back looked exactly like Amelia, or rather, Bella. No wonder Chris was angry.
"Nothing," Chris said indifferently.
Leila poured him a cup of ginger tea, "Drink some of this; it'll help settle your stomach."
Chris got up and walked out.
This time, Leila saw him off to the car but didn't go with him. Instead, she
got into her own car.
Leila opened the live stream and found it was indeed Amelia. That hairstyle, that dressing style, who else could if be?
"Go to the Spencer family hospital," Leila ordered through gritted teeth.
When Leila arrived, Amelia had already finished the live stream, and a nurse was changing her dressing.
"What an unfortunate coincidence, I arrived late and missed seeing how our Ms. White was live-streaming her flirting with men." Leila strutted in on four-inch heels, her eyes flashing with mockery.
Amelia asked the nurse to leave and then said, "Well, Ms. Ross wants to learn? But you already have Mr. Spencer, it wouldn't be appropriate to hook up with others."
"You bitch, do you even know what decency is? You already have Mr.Howard, and you're still seducing Chris. Do you forget that we're already engaged?"
Leila had been holding back for days. Chris often came to the hospital, sometimes going in and out, but more often, he just parked outside and sat there silently, no one knew what he was thinking.
His behavior was extremely weird, and it was all because of this bitch.
"Ms. Ross, that's strange. You failed to handle your boyfriend and now you are blaming me?" Amelia poured herself a glass of water, took a sip, found it too hot, and put it down.
"You bitch."
"I recorded it." Amelia shook her phone and casually threw it on the coffee table, "You're a public figure, don't be so excessive, or you'll embarrass yourself."
