Chapter 109: Chapter 109

Ethan Roscente's car came to a smooth stop outside the police station.

Jenna Roland strode briskly into the lobby with Ethan following closely behind. After explaining the situation to the officer on duty, they were led toward the mediation room.

Before reaching the door, a shrill female voice pierced through the walls.

"You ill-bred brats!"

Pushing the door open, they saw a middle-aged woman with permed curls slamming her palm on the table. She fell silent upon seeing the newcomers.

"Inspector Cole, this is Milo Roland's sister," the escorting officer introduced.

Inside the room sat Inspector Cole Macmillan in uniform, accompanied by two women—one in her forties, the other with graying hair.

"This is Mrs. Xu, the mother of the injured student, and his grandmother Mrs. Zhou," Inspector Cole explained briefly.

From the corner, Milo's head snapped up. "Jenna!"

Jenna rushed to his side in three quick strides. The teenager's face was a patchwork of bruises, his lip split and bleeding.

Her heart clenched painfully.

"What happened?" Jenna's voice trembled.

Xu Chan shoved herself between them. "So you're his sister?"

Grandma Zhou jabbed a finger near Jenna's face. "Look what your brother did! You're not leaving until we get justice!"

Jenna ignored them both, gripping Milo's shoulders. "Tell me everything."

The boy's lips quivered. "Sheng Fei... he said things about you in class..."

"What things?"

"That you... work as an escort at Studio 54..." Milo's voice dropped to a whisper. "And that he'd... come find you there..."

Jenna's chest heaved.

"He kept saying horrible things. I... I lost control..." Milo's fists cracked audibly.

Xu Chan screeched, "How dare you justify violence? My son's leg is broken! No wonder—fatherless street rats!"

Jenna whirled around, her gaze glacial.
