"Of course I have evidence." Jenna Roland's lips curved into a faint smile, but her eyes remained icy. "The owner of Studio 54, my clients, and colleagues can all testify for me."
Zhou Xian'e paled at her confident tone.
If this actually went to court, her family would never know peace again.
"Stop with this nonsense!" Zhou Xian'e snapped, desperation creeping into her voice. "We still haven't settled the matter of your brother assaulting my grandson!"
Jenna's gaze sharpened. "Then let's discuss how Sheng Fei attacked my brother first."
"Lies!" Zhou Xian'e pointed at Milo Roland. "Look at him—there's not a scratch! Clearly, your brother was the aggressor!"
"Are you blind?" Jenna scoffed. "My brother has bruises around his eye and blood on his lip. A medical exam might even reveal internal injuries."
She turned to the officer, her tone measured. "Sheng Fei slandered me as an escort girl. My brother only defended my honor. But Sheng Fei fought back—these injuries are proof."
"After the medical examination, I'll be filing defamation charges against both Mrs. Xu and Sheng Fei." Her eyes swept over the room. "Everyone here is a witness."
Inspector Cole Macmillan suppressed his surprise. In all his years on the force, he'd rarely encountered such a composed and articulate civilian.
Ethan Roscente's eyes flickered with unexpected interest. This sharp-tongued woman was proving far more intriguing than he'd anticipated.
"Under Penal Code Article 246," Inspector Cole stated gravely, "severe cases of defamation can result in up to three years' imprisonment."
Xu Chan and Zhou Xian'e turned ashen.
They never imagined their idle gossip could land them in legal trouble.
"No rush." Jenna smiled coolly. "I'll take my brother for his medical exam first. Inspector Cole, please assign an officer to accompany us—lest anyone accuse us of fleeing."
Officer Liam Hill arrived promptly. He recognized Jenna immediately—he'd handled Fiona Roland's extortion case previously.
Ethan's phone suddenly rang.
"Don't let us keep you," Jenna said politely. "I'll reach out if needed."
Her use of "Mr. Roscente" made both officers glance sharply at Ethan.
Without a backward glance, Ethan strode out of the mediation room.
