Chapter 114: Chapter 114

The car had barely stopped when Jenna told Liam and the others to wait at the hospital entrance.

She tugged at Milo's sleeve, signaling for him to stay.

Milo kept his head down, his bangs shadowing his eyes.

He didn't want his sister to see the redness in them.

Jenna tilted her head closer, determined to get a good look at his bloodshot eyes.

"Oh? Since when does our little tough guy cry golden tears?"

Milo turned his face away, his voice muffled. "I'm not crying."

The hoarseness in his tone betrayed him.

Jenna chuckled softly, standing on tiptoe to ruffle his hair.

"Remember to say your chest hurts during the examination."

Milo jerked his head up, confusion written across his face. "Why?"

"You hit Ethan pretty hard." Jenna lowered her voice. "If you don't make it seem serious, that shrew of a mother won't let this go."

Milo frowned. "But aren't you suing them for defamation?"

"That'll only scare them temporarily." Jenna's lips curled into a cold smile. "If they find out you're fine while Ethan's badly hurt, you'll get expelled for sure. We'd have to pay compensation too."

Milo clenched his fists. "I'm sorry, sis. I shouldn't have fought back."

"Silly boy." Jenna poked his forehead. "You fight back when someone bullies you—that's my brother. So what if we have to pay? I'll just take on more clients."

Milo's eyes reddened again.

Jenna pulled him into a tight hug, gently patting his back. "Don't be afraid. I've got you."

Milo buried his face in her shoulder and gave a muffled "Mm."

By the time they entered the hospital, Liam had been waiting at the entrance for a while.

Registration, payment, examinations—throughout the entire process, Milo kept frowning.

During the MRI, he suddenly clutched his chest. "Doctor, it hurts here."

The doctor immediately grew concerned and urged them to visit the thoracic surgery department for further checks.

Jenna remained calm. This was exactly the reaction she'd anticipated.

But Xu Chan, standing nearby, panicked.

Her eyes locked onto Milo's pale face, her fingers trembling uncontrollably.

If Milo really had heart problems—on top of the defamation charges—her family would be ruined!
