Chapter 147: Chapter 147

Jenna Roland's pupils constricted sharply.

Six pitch-black handguns were trained on her in unison, their metallic surfaces glinting coldly under the streetlights.

Tristan Ashcroft's men actually carried firearms—a serious felony in this country.

Ryan Casstevensa's gaze was razor-sharp as it pinned Sophia Merouin. "Was trailing Miss Roland your idea?"

Sophia's face turned ashen, her lips trembling. "N-no... It wasn't me..."

"She ordered it!" Jenna stated with absolute conviction.

Sophia shuddered violently, nearly collapsing to the ground.

She let out a hysterical scream. "Jenna! What good would my death do you?"

"Plenty." Jenna's laugh was icy. "At least no one would stalk me anymore. But—" Her tone shifted abruptly, "Murder's illegal. I won't let you die."

Though she loathed Sophia, she wouldn't go so far as to take a life.

Ryan exchanged a glance with Xavier Lefèvre. "Tie them up."

Xavier swiftly holstered his gun and retrieved ropes from the trunk.

Within moments, Sophia and her two accomplices were bound tightly.

"This is kidnapping!" Sophia thrashed wildly. "I'll call the police!"

Jenna scoffed. "Now you care about the law? Did you consider consequences when having me followed?"

Venomous hatred flashed in Sophia's eyes.

This bitch had cost her everything—her wealthy patron, her status, everything!

"Take them away," Ryan commanded.

Jenna stopped him. "Where are you taking them?"

"The boss wants to see them." Ryan lowered his voice. "Tristan Ashcroft."

Understanding dawned on Jenna.

Sophia had been two-timing Tristan and Byron Valdemar, even using her patron's money to fund her side piece.

What man would tolerate such humiliation?

"I'll drive you back." Ryan opened the car door.

Jenna gave the name of a Beverly Hills neighborhood, keeping her voice deliberately soft.

The black sedan glided soundlessly into the night.
