Sophie Roscente took a deep breath and raised three fingers. "Grandma Blanche, Grandpa Harrison, Mom Grace, Dad Benjamin—I swear I'll keep my mouth shut. If I spill the beans, you can freeze my credit cards and ground me for a month!"
She knew exactly what was at stake. The entire family had conspired to conceal Ethan's true identity when he married Jenna. One careless word from her could unravel everything.
Though usually mischievous, Sophie understood the gravity of this situation.
Grandma Blanche's expression turned stern. "Remember your promise. If your brother's marriage falls apart because of you, I'll deal with you first!"
Despite doting on her granddaughter, the old woman never compromised on principles.
"Got it~" Sophie chirped sweetly.
After receiving the Beverly Hills address, Grandma Blanche repeatedly warned her not to overstay.
Sophie agreed eagerly and skipped out the door.
Grace Roscente frowned. "Mom, are you sure about letting her go?"
"Relax." Grandma Blanche smiled knowingly. "Ethan will return home for lunch. That girl fears her brother more than anything. With him supervising, nothing will go wrong."
...
The red sports car pulled up in Beverly Hills.
Following the address, Sophie found the house and rang the doorbell.
Her smile froze when the door opened.
"Brother... Why are you here?"
Ethan Roscente blocked the doorway with a cold expression. "What are you doing here?"
Sophie twisted her fingers together. "I... I just wanted to meet my sister-in-law." She added hastily, "I promise to behave!"
Jenna Roland's voice carried from the dining room. "Mr. Roscente, who's at the door?"
Sophie's eyes lit up. Standing on tiptoes, she called out, "Sister-in-law, it's me!"
Ethan's face darkened instantly.
He'd planned to say it was a salesperson, but his sister had reacted too quickly.
Jenna appeared at the doorway, looking puzzled. "And you are...?"
