Chapter 195: Chapter 195

Ethan slid into the driver's seat but didn't start the engine. He pulled out his phone and dialed Grandma Blanche.

"Grandma, why did you give Sophie the address to Beverly Hills?" His voice was low and icy.

His long fingers tapped impatiently against the steering wheel, his brows furrowed. Sophie had never been good at keeping secrets. What if she accidentally let something slip to Jenna?

"She promised not to say anything," Grandma Blanche replied breezily.

"No matter what she promised, she shouldn't have gone to see Jenna." Ethan's tone darkened with displeasure.

"She said Jenna is her sister-in-law and they'd meet eventually." Grandma Blanche spoke unhurriedly. "Your grandfather and I both think it's time Jenna got to know the family, now that she's married into it."

Ethan took a deep breath and rubbed his temples. "Fine."

What was done couldn't be undone.

"Ethan, are you afraid Jenna will find out who you really are?" Grandma Blanche suddenly asked, a sly glint in her eyes.

"I have work to do. Goodbye." He abruptly ended the call.

Grandma Blanche huffed as she set down the phone. "That boy, still pretending with me!"

Grandpa Harrison chuckled. "Well?"

"The moment I asked if he liked Jenna, he hung up." She smirked triumphantly. "Definitely guilty."

"That girl is quite lovable," Grandpa Harrison nodded. "It's only natural Ethan would fall for her."

"I just hope they get together soon." Grandma Blanche beamed. "Then I can finally hold my great-grandchild."

......

Beverly Hills.

Jenna had just seen Sophie off and was about to rest when her phone rang. It was Hugo.

"Mr. Valence?" She answered.

"Miss Roland, we have results from the orchard investigation." His voice was grave. "It's already been transferred to your uncle's name. Legally, it'll be difficult to reclaim."

Jenna bolted upright in bed, her face instantly draining of color. "What?"

"The transfer was completed on May 4th, 2018," Hugo added.

The date made her hands tremble so violently she nearly dropped the phone.

"Miss Roland?" Hugo noticed her distress.

"My parents... died on April 29th, 2018," Jenna whispered, her voice shaking, eyes reddening.

"Which means..." Hugo paused.

"It was transferred less than a week after their deaths." Her fists clenched, nails digging into her palms. "Mr. Valence... do you think my uncle had something to do with their deaths?"
