Chapter 206: Chapter 206

Jenna Roland soon fell into a deep slumber, her breathing steady and even.

Ethan Roscente turned slightly, quickly sending two messages before his gaze inadvertently drifted to the figure on the floor bedding.

Jenna shifted unconsciously, turning her back to him.

The movement caused the thin summer blanket to slip halfway down, revealing the smooth curve of her back and the delicate dip of her waist.

The slender contour glowed softly under the moonlight.

Ethan's throat tightened as his eyes remained fixed on that pale expanse of skin.

Jenna frowned suddenly, scratching her neck before rolling onto her back again.

Her exquisite face now faced him directly, the moonlight tracing her flawless profile.

His gaze traveled downward, where a dozen red scars marred the porcelain skin of her neck.

Ethan's brow furrowed.

He remembered her skin being flawless the last time he saw her.

Further down, the tantalizing curves made his mouth go dry, his breathing growing ragged.

He squeezed his eyes shut, taking several deep breaths.

This was madness. How could he be having these thoughts about Jenna?

Too long without release, apparently.

Irritated, he switched off the bedside lamp.

Moonlight filtered through the curtains, illuminating her silhouette even more vividly.

The narrow waist, the flat stomach, and the suggestive curves hidden beneath the blanket.

Unwanted fantasies flooded his mind.

His pulse quickened, heat spreading through his body.

A sudden phone ringtone snapped him out of his trance.

Damn it. How long had he been staring at her?

Ethan muted the call instantly.

Gavin Valentine's name flashed on the screen.

Pinching the bridge of his nose, he stepped onto the balcony, closing the glass door before answering.

"Speak."

His voice came out rough and strained.

"I'm at Studio 54. Tristan Ashcroft says Jenna didn't show tonight." Gavin's voice crackled through the line. "And she's only working two-hour shifts from now on. Should I keep monitoring her?"

Ethan's gaze drifted back through the glass door.

Somehow, Jenna had kicked off the blanket completely, now lying fully exposed toward him.

Moonlight bathed every alluring curve in silver.

He forced himself to look away.

"Ethan? You there?" Gavin's voice pulled him back.

"What?" His reply was hoarse.
