Chapter 213: Chapter 213

Jenna Roland clenched her fists, nails digging deep into her palms.

She would marry someday, but not now.

That orchard was her parents' legacy. She and her brother Milo were the rightful heirs. Why should they hand it over to Victor Roland, an outsider?

"Milo can't manage the orchard because of his health?" Jenna scoffed. "If not for your interference, the orchard would've been mine years ago!"

Victor lounged with his legs crossed, smug. "Your parents died young. Without my hard work, the orchard would've gone to waste. You should be thanking me."

His words ignited Jenna's fury.

"The will clearly states the orchard returns to me upon marriage," she shot up from her seat. "How dare you go back on your word?"

"Naive!" Victor slammed the table. "After all my effort, you think I'd walk away empty-handed? The orchard is under my name now. Forget about reclaiming it!"

Fiona Roland kicked Victor under the table, shooting him a venomous glare.

"What's wrong with you?" Victor yelped in pain.

Fiona gritted her teeth. They were supposed to coax Jenna, but this idiot had ruined everything. The $80,000 reward was slipping through their fingers.

"Where's the will?" Jenna demanded.

"Burned it," Victor sneered. "You saw it yourself."

Jenna's heart sank.

She had wanted to verify the handwriting. But if the will was forged, Victor would've destroyed the evidence.

That mysterious wooden box was her only hope now.

In the past, she would've stormed out. But for the truth, she had to endure.

"Dad," Sean Roland spoke up, "the orchard never belonged to you. Return it to Jenna and Milo."

Victor was about to explode when Fiona kicked him again.

"Enough! We're here to eat, not argue!" Fiona snapped.

Heidi Roland quickly mediated. "We're family. Let's not fight."

Jenna silently finished her meal, then looked up. "You're right. The orchard should be yours."

"What?" Victor gaped.

"You've managed it for years. You understand it better than I do." Jenna forced a smile, swallowing her disgust. "I won't take it back."

Victor froze.

He knew better than anyone how far Jenna would go to reclaim the orchard—even marrying a stranger.
