Chapter 246: Chapter 246

Grandpa Harrison pulled a cigarette case from his pocket and lit one unhurriedly.

His lips curved slightly when he noticed the brand-new glass ashtray on the coffee table. Jenna must have prepared it specifically for him.

Amidst the swirling smoke, he glanced around. The once-sterile apartment now radiated warmth.

Jenna and Ethan emerged from the kitchen.

"Would you like some tea, Grandma Blanche? I just bought fresh Longjing," Jenna asked softly.

Grandma Blanche waved her hand. "Don't trouble yourself."

"It's no trouble." Jenna turned to prepare the tea.

Ethan sat beside his grandfather, fingers flying across his phone screen.

Soon, Jenna returned with a tea tray, carefully placing it on the table.

"Be careful, it's hot," she reminded.

Grandma Blanche nudged her husband with an elbow.

The old man cleared his throat. "Jenna, we have a favor to ask."

"Go ahead." Jenna straightened attentively.

"Your grandmother's birthday is coming up. We're hosting it at the villa. None of those fancy chefs can compare to your cooking." His eyes sparkled with anticipation. "Would you handle the banquet?"

Jenna hesitated. "I've never cooked for so many people..."

"Just do it your usual way." Grandpa Harrison chuckled. "We'll prepare all ingredients and assign you assistants."

Jenna glanced at Ethan, who remained silent behind his cigarette.

"When exactly?"

"This Saturday noon," Grandma Blanche interjected. "Just two or three tables."

Jenna took a deep breath. "Well... I'll try. But if it's not good enough..."

"It'll be perfect!" Grandpa Harrison thumped his chest.

Ethan stubbed out his cigarette. "You can say no."

"I want to." Jenna smiled at him.

Ethan checked his watch. "Time for the office."

Grandma Blanche stood. "We'll leave together."

After seeing them off, Jenna lingered at the doorway. She closed the door with a soft sigh.
