Chapter 251: Chapter 251

Jenna Roland swung her leg over the e-bike and was about to twist the throttle to leave.

Lucien Valois suddenly reached out to stop her. "Miss Roland, may I have your contact information?"

Jenna slammed on the brakes and looked at him in surprise. "Mr. Valois, we barely know each other."

"Stella is my fiancée's sister. And you're her friend." Lucien remained composed. "It would be convenient to have your number."

Jenna forced a polite smile. "I'll contact Stella directly if anything comes up. Excuse me, I'm in a hurry."

She quickly twisted the throttle, and the e-bike zipped away.

In the rearview mirror, Lucien's figure grew smaller. Jenna frowned. What was his deal? Asking for her number out of nowhere.

Lucien stood still, watching the e-bike disappear around the corner. He pulled out his phone and dialed a number.

"Run a background check," he ordered curtly.

......

Jenna carried her grocery bag into Beverly Hills.

Sweat trickled down her cheeks. She stuffed the groceries into the fridge before collapsing onto the couch.

After a quick shower, she opened the fridge. Condensation beaded on the chilled soda can.

She took several gulps, the cold liquid soothing her throat. A satisfied sigh escaped her lips.

Her phone suddenly vibrated.

"Hello?" Jenna towel-dried her damp hair.

"Jenna!" Stella's voice was urgent. "Stay away from Lucien Valois!"

The soda can clattered onto the coffee table. "What do you mean?"

"He's interested in you!" Stella hissed. "He just called to ask about you."

Jenna nearly choked on her soda. "Isn't he with your sister?"

"My sister?" Stella scoffed. "She's only after his money and connections. The point is—"

The line went silent for a few seconds.

"Lucien is already married," Stella enunciated each word. "His wife is the only daughter of the Zhou Group."

Jenna's fingers absently traced the condensation on the soda can.

The cold sensation sent a shiver down her spine.

"If you knew he was married..." Jenna's voice tightened. "Why would you..."

"That's why I'm warning you!" Stella's pitch rose in panic. "We can't afford to cross the Zhous!"
