Chapter 308: Chapter 308

The test results came in at 3:30 PM.

Jenna Roland clutched the thick stack of reports as she hurried toward the specialist's office.

The doctor reviewed all the data carefully before typing up a hospital admission notice. "The surgery schedule is full. The earliest opening is the morning after tomorrow."

Jenna nodded in agreement. After completing the admission paperwork, she escorted Milo Roland to his hospital room.

As soon as her brother was settled, she dialed Ethan Roscente's number.

"All the tests are done. The surgery is scheduled for the day after tomorrow." Her fingers tightened around the phone. "Can you reach Dr. Melford?"

The sound of rustling papers came through the line. "Consider it done. I'll have him there tomorrow."

"Thank you so much."

"My pleasure."

Ethan noted the hospital address before ending the call. Instead of contacting Liam Melford immediately, he pressed the intercom button.

When his assistant Lucas entered, he found his CEO standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, long fingers tapping lightly against the frame.

"Find me the contact information for the president of Johns Hopkins Hospital." Ethan turned, his sharp gaze as cool as ever.

"Right away."

Lucas worked with astonishing efficiency, returning with the details in under ten minutes. "The president is Matthew Macmillan. His number is—"

Ethan dialed directly.

"President Macmillan, a pleasure."

A hesitant elderly voice answered, "May I ask who's calling?"

"Ethan Roscente of HM Group."

Matthew's sharp intake of breath was audible, followed by the screech of his chair. "Mr. Roscente? To what do I owe—"

"A friend is undergoing heart surgery at your facility." Ethan cut straight to the point. "I need a favor."

"The patient's name?"

"Milo Roland, cardiac surgery." Ethan's tone was casual, as if discussing the weather. "I've arranged for Liam Melford to perform the operation. Any objections?"

"Liam Melford?!" Matthew's glasses slid down his nose. "Professor Melford from Mayo Clinic?"

His voice cracked with excitement. The legendary surgeon commanded astronomical consultation fees most hospitals couldn't afford.

"He'll arrive tomorrow." Ethan confirmed tersely.

Matthew's mind raced with calculations of the prestige this surgery would bring. Rubbing his hands together, he eagerly agreed, "No problem at all! Absolutely no problem!"
