Chapter 352: Chapter 352

Gavin Valentine rose and walked to the door, turning the handle.

Ethan Roscente stood outside with a stormy expression.

"She didn't say anything." Gavin shrugged. "Your call."

He patted Ethan's shoulder and stepped past him.

Ethan entered silently, closing the door behind him.

No light seeped from beneath the bedroom door.

Pushing it open gently, he saw Jenna Roland already lying on the floor bedding, illuminated by the hallway light.

Ethan stood over her, gaze fixed on her curled form.

Two minutes passed before he spoke. "Take the bed. I'll sleep in the living room."

Only the hum of the air conditioner filled the silence.

"About the club... I'm sorry." Ethan drew a deep breath. "I apologize."

Jenna remained motionless, her back to him.

His fists clenched.

Did he really think a simple apology could make up for calling her the wrong name?

He turned and left, shutting the door quietly behind him.

Jenna opened her eyes, staring at the dark wall.

Selective amnesia?

He'd been perfectly lucid at the time. Now he played dumb.

She rolled over as her phone screen lit up.

Grandma Blanche's caller ID flashed.

"Grandma." Jenna answered.

"Jenna dear, are you asleep?" Concern laced the older woman's voice.

"About to." Jenna kept her voice soft.

"Did you mention what we discussed earlier to Ethan?"

Jenna studied the shadows on the ceiling.

"Forgot. I'll tell him tomorrow."

"Is Ethan asleep?"

"Probably." Jenna hedged.

"Aren't you sharing a bed?" Grandma Blanche sounded suspicious.

Jenna bit her lip.

"He's facing away. Let me check."

She pretended to look, pausing before saying, "He's asleep."

"Well then—"

The bedroom door swung open, cutting her off.

"Jenna, did you wash my towel?" Ethan's voice carried clearly.

Jenna froze.

"Ethan's still awake?" Grandma Blanche pounced.

Jenna massaged her temples.

The woman had bat-like hearing.

"Sorry Grandma, he's actually not asleep."

"Perfect timing. Ask him now." Grandma Blanche urged. "Your uncle Victor's whole family is waiting for an answer."
