Jenna's pupils constricted abruptly, her fingers unconsciously clutching the hem of her shirt.
Benjamin Roscente shot to his feet, his voice trembling. "She's really pregnant? Is the news confirmed?"
Grandma Blanche beamed with joy. "Ethan told us himself. It must be true. Jenna just got back from the hospital. Let's go to the supermarket and pick up some things before heading to Beverly Hills to see her."
"Let's go now!" Benjamin grabbed his car keys impatiently.
They had waited far too long for this grandchild. Their excitement was palpable as they practically flew out the door.
The four of them rushed to a high-end supermarket, filling their cart with bird's nest, ginseng, and abalone. Benjamin even detoured to the snack aisle to grab a dozen packs of nuts—perfect for pregnancy cravings.
The door to the Beverly Hills home was slightly ajar, clearly left open on Ethan's instructions.
"Jenna?" Grandma Blanche called softly.
The bedroom door opened, and Jenna emerged in loungewear. She paused mid-step at the sight of the four elders in her living room.
"What brings you here?" She hurried forward. "Please, have a seat."
Grace Roscente guided her to the couch, her gaze tender. "Ethan told us you're expecting. We couldn't wait to see you."
Jenna hadn't expected Ethan to share the news so quickly. The tips of her ears warmed.
Grace clasped her hands firmly. "You're our top priority now. No overexerting yourself."
"Mom, I'm fine," Jenna reassured with a smile.
"And if Ethan ever upsets you," Grace patted her hand, "just let us know. We'll set him straight."
Grandpa Harrison gestured to the mountain of premium supplements by the door. "These are all for you. When you run out, tell Ethan to restock."
Jenna eyed the lavish gifts, touched yet slightly overwhelmed.
"How about we all have dinner together when Ethan gets back?" Grace suggested.
Grandma Blanche hesitated before speaking up. "Jenna, would you consider moving back to the family estate? We have housekeepers to take care of you."
The room fell silent.
Jenna pressed her lips together. "Grandma, I'm comfortable living here. It feels more... like home."
Her words were direct but sincere. The four elders exchanged glances, understanding passing between them.
Grandma Blanche nodded warmly. "Of course. Young couples need their own space."
Benjamin suddenly remembered something, pulling out his phone. "I should call Ethan. Tell him to come home early."
