Chapter 469: Chapter 469

Jenna Roland tossed the last grape seed into the trash. She turned to Sylvia Savigny, who was organizing the orchard accounts. "You're managing this place all by yourself. Don't overwork—take breaks when you need to."

Sylvia closed the ledger with a faint smile. "You're paying me double the market rate. I'd be ungrateful not to work hard."

"Money isn't the issue." Jenna waved a hand, then lowered her voice. "Has Victor Roland's crew been causing trouble lately?"

"Not since the bodyguards beat them up last time. It's been over a month." Sylvia pointed at the two guard dogs chained by the orchard gate. "Now they won't even come near the entrance."

Jenna nodded. "I'm going for a walk in the orchard."

After being cooped up at home for too long, she craved fresh air. Stella Laurent immediately followed as they strolled along the path between fruit trees.

Two hours later, Stella supported Jenna on their way down the hill. Without a car, Stella pulled out her phone to call a rideshare.

Just then, a black Audi screeched to a halt in front of them. Jenna's hand shot into her bag, gripping the pepper spray.

The door opened. A woman in a beige trench coat stepped out, her curls bouncing. Seeing no one else in the car, Jenna relaxed slightly—until she recognized the face.

Yvonne Sherwood.

The woman from the photos and videos Vanessa Galatea had sent.

Jenna withdrew her hand, lips curling into a cold smile. "What an unexpected visit, Ms. Sherwood."

Yvonne adjusted her collar gracefully and extended her right hand. "We haven't met. I'm Yvonne Sherwood."

"Unnecessary." Jenna crossed her arms. "Ethan Roscente already introduced you."

Yvonne's hand hovered awkwardly before she turned to Stella. "And this is?"

"My best friend." Jenna's brow furrowed impatiently. "Get to the point."
