Chapter 480: Chapter 480

Lena Chen kept her head bowed, voice trembling. "Mrs. Roscente, I sincerely apologize. Please give me another chance."

Jenna Roland ignored her plea and turned to the cashier. "Wrap these clothes and deliver them to my home."

Growing up modestly had instilled frugal habits in her. Even now with club dividends, orchard profits, and the Roscente family's wealth at her disposal, she remained prudent with spending. She could easily buy the entire mall if she wished.

"Right away, Mrs. Roscente." The cashier noted the address respectfully.

Jenna linked arms with Ethan. "Let's go, darling."

Ethan's icy gaze swept over Lena. "You're spared this time for my wife's sake. If it happens again—" His eyes scanned the staff. "Do I make myself clear?"

"Absolutely, Mr. Roscente! This won't recur!" The employees chorused.

Outside the boutique, Jenna bit her lip. "Do I really look... unfashionable?"

Ethan's gaze softened. "Nonsense. You elevate the clothes, not the other way around."

"Flatterer." She chuckled.

"Truth." He pulled her closer. "Those women only disagree because they envy you."

Jenna arched a brow. "Or is it love blinding your judgment?"

Suddenly, Ethan stopped a passing young man. "Don't you think she's beautiful?"

Jenna's cheeks burned crimson.

The boy appraised her and nodded honestly. "Very."

"Thank you." Satisfied, Ethan led Jenna away. "See? Objective proof of your beauty."

"You're impossible..." Her ears tingled pink.

"Let's pick out jewelry." He suggested.

"Unnecessary." She shook her head. "I've no occasions to wear them."

After a pause, Ethan countered, "Then wedding bands."

This time, Jenna didn't refuse.

At the jewelry counter, Ethan selected platinum diamond rings. He had Jenna slide the groom's band onto his finger first, then solemnly slipped the bride's ring onto her work-roughened hand.

Diamonds glittered under the lights, accentuating her calloused fingers from years of labor. Yet to Ethan, those hands outshone any jewel.
