Chapter 491: Chapter 491

Morning sunlight streamed through the gap in the hospital room curtains.

Grandma Blanche and Grandpa Harrison Roscente had stayed up all night and were finally persuaded by Grace and Benjamin Roscente to go home and rest.

Milo Roland rushed in with his backpack to say goodbye, not wanting to be late for his 8 AM class.

Stella Laurent returned from the water dispenser with a basin of warm water, wringing out a towel to gently clean Jenna Roland's face.

Ethan Roscente carefully prepared formula, feeding their newborn with practiced ease.

"Stella, your nursing skills put the professionals to shame," Jenna teased, her complexion much healthier than the night before.

Stella rolled her eyes as she wiped Jenna's fingers. "Only for you. No amount of money could make me do this for anyone else."

"Why are you so good to me?" Jenna tilted her head curiously.

"The paycheck helps," Stella admitted, pausing. "But mostly because without you, my sister and I would've died at Yvonne Valois' hands."

She hadn't even gone home, staying solely to care for Jenna.

"Ethan deserves most of the credit for that," Jenna said, glancing at her husband.

Stella chuckled, wringing the towel again. "Without his beloved wife involved, do you think the mighty Mr. Roscente would've lifted a finger?"

"Don't feel obligated," Jenna murmured.

Stella picked up the basin. "Enough talk. I'll get fresh water."

Once the door closed, Jenna turned to Ethan. "Have you decided on a name?"

"You choose." He didn't look up from the baby.

"I'm not exactly literary," Jenna demurred. "How about Shawn? For a bright future."

Ethan raised an eyebrow. "No culture, huh? That's actually quite good."

"Uneducated doesn't mean illiterate!" Jenna glared.

"Then what about Shawn Roscente?" Ethan suggested. "More complete symbolism."

Jenna's eyes lit up. "The extra syllable does sound better."

"Done." Ethan nodded. "But we should still consult our parents."

"They'll agree with whatever you say," Jenna laughed.

The door swung open. Sophie Roscente entered with Vanessa Galatea trailing behind.

Ethan's expression darkened instantly. "Who invited her?"

Vanessa twisted her fingers nervously, addressing Jenna. "Ms. Roland, I came to apologize. I was wrong to sow discord between you two."

"Actually, I should thank you." Jenna's smile didn't reach her eyes. "Otherwise, I wouldn't have learned about Yvonne Sherwood."

Vanessa bit her lip, turning to Ethan. "Ethan, I promise never to upset Ms. Roland again."
