Chapter 56: Chapter 56

Jenna's fingertips trembled slightly.

She wasn't afraid of gossip, but the thought of those lecherous stares and vulgar remarks made her chest tighten.

What worried her more was Milo's reaction. Though those men wouldn't dare touch her, their eyes felt like slimy snake tongues crawling over her skin.

If her brother witnessed this, even if he believed she was just selling drinks, he'd never let her stay in a place like this.

"Is Stella also a beverage promoter?" Milo suddenly asked, his gaze landing on Stella's identical uniform.

Jenna nodded. "Yes, we're in the same team."

Tristan blew a smoke ring, smirking. "Our escort girls wear much less than your sister. Want to take a look?"

"Boss!" Jenna glared at him. "My brother's still a student."

"The school uniform gives it away." Tristan flicked his cigarette ash, his eyes darting between the siblings.

Milo tightened his grip on his backpack strap. "Sis, this place is too shady."

"I understand your concern." Jenna softened her tone. "But the boss is always here, and there are bouncers keeping order. No one would dare misbehave."

"You're really planning to keep working here?" Milo's voice strained.

Jenna's eyes lit up. "The commission is high. Last time with those two bottles of fifty-thousand-dollar wine, I made over five grand." She counted on her fingers. "At this rate, I'll save up enough soon."

"Five thousand?" Milo gasped. That amount equaled half a year's salary for most people.

Tristan interjected, "A hundred grand is nothing. If she puts in effort, she could earn that in two months." He added meaningfully, "Not everyone can get Mr. Roscente and Tony to foot the bill."

Milo's expression darkened. "But what about your reputation? The relatives' gossip alone could drown you."

He thought of their uncle's family's sneering faces, his throat tightening with bitterness. They already looked down on them. If they found out Jenna worked here, who knew what vile things they'd say?
