"What?" Milo Roland's eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at his sister. "Mr. Roscente knows you work here? And he didn't object?"
Jenna lowered her lashes, her fingers absently tracing the hem of her uniform.
Her marriage to Ethan was nothing but a transaction.
To put it bluntly, they had a contractual arrangement that served their respective needs. He didn't truly care about her—why would he bother with such details?
But Ethan's opinion didn't matter. As long as Milo was okay with it, that was enough.
"He knows I'm just a server, not an escort," Jenna explained softly. "No job is beneath dignity as long as it's honest work."
"I can't believe he's actually been here," Milo mused.
"Exactly. If I were doing that kind of work, he would've divorced me long ago," Jenna quipped lightly.
Milo nodded. "Sis, I don't have classes tomorrow. I'll wait here tonight so we can go home together."
He wanted to see her workplace and make sure no one was mistreating her.
"Alright."
As long as he didn't witness her working, she didn't mind.
"I should get back. If they catch me slacking off again, I'll get scolded." Jenna stood up.
Milo followed her downstairs and was directed to the staff lounge to wait.
Sophia Merouin walked past carrying a tray of drinks. Spotting the teenager in school uniform, she stopped Patrick Klein.
"Who's that?"
"Jenna's younger brother."
Sophia arched a brow. "Her real brother?"
"Of course." Patrick hurried away.
With a dismissive sniff, Sophia dropped the subject. She'd never liked Jenna anyway.
Milo charged his phone for thirty minutes until it reached 40%.
After another half hour, the battery was full.
As he returned the charger, a tall figure strode through the club's entrance.
Milo froze.
Though his sister had mentioned it, seeing it firsthand still shocked him.
Ethan Roscente stood there in an immaculate suit, followed by Gavin Valentine and two other men.
He stopped before Milo, frowning slightly. "What are you doing here?"
Gavin eyed the teenager curiously. "And this is...?"
