Chapter 160: Chapter 160

I Suggest You Stay Out Of This

The silence shattered.

Isabella’s voice cut through the tension.

The scarred man’s hand froze mid-air.

He spun around, his eyes searching.

He saw them then.

Isabella was pushing Alexander’s wheelchair.

A harsh, mocking laugh escaped his lips.

"Well, well," he sneered. "Look what we have here. A do-gooder and her invalid companion? This is none of your business. Get lost before you get hurt."

His lackey squinted at the approaching figures.

"Boss," he whispered urgently. "That woman... she looks familiar."

Recognition flashed in his eyes.

"Wait... that's Isabella Rossi. She's been all over the news lately. And the man in the wheelchair... that's Alexander Blackwood. The Blackwood heir."

The name 'Blackwood' had an immediate effect.

The scarred man stiffened.

Uncertainty flickered across his harsh features.

He frowned deeply. "What are they doing here? What's their game?"

Isabella met their hostile stares without flinching.

Her voice was calm but firm. "What do you hope to achieve by terrorizing this place?"

The scarred man forced a cynical smile for the orphanage staff.

"This land," he declared, "belongs to Mr. Hayes now. You will vacate. Today. There are no alternatives."

He turned his venom back to Isabella and Alexander.

"And you two," he warned, pointing a finger. "I suggest you stay out of this. Or you will deeply regret it."

Isabella let out a short, dismissive laugh.

"And if we refuse? Will you use force? You recognized us. I know the Hayes family's influence. But are you prepared for the consequences of escalating this?"

Seeing her defiance, the man's expression darkened further.

He sneered, his gaze raking contemptuously over Alexander.

"Oh, I know exactly who you are," he taunted. "Alexander Blackwood, the famous heir. But everyone knows you're just a figurehead. Your family doesn't care about a cripple."

His eyes shifted to Isabella. "And you. You're just a woman. Let me give you some advice. Don't overestimate yourself. Don't think we're afraid to teach you a lesson."

His cronies erupted in cruel laughter.

"He's right! Who cares about the Blackwood heir? He's useless in that chair! The Hayes family could break him easily!"

"Hey, sweetheart, we saw your little drama with the Blackwood family online. Don't get any ideas. They were amateurs. The Hayes family is in a different league entirely."

Isabella's eyes blazed with fury at their insults toward Alexander.

She fixed the scarred man with an icy stare, calmly raising her phone.

"Is that so?" she said, her voice dangerously soft. "How convenient. I've recorded your entire performance here. With my online reach, one click is all it takes. Imagine the headlines: 'Hayes Family Thugs Attack Orphanage.' The public will feast on it."

She offered a thin, cold smile as she pocketed the phone.

"So, why don't you and your friends consider that? How much damage will this do to the Hayes family's precious reputation?"

"You bitch!" the scarred man roared, his face purpling with rage. "You wouldn't dare! Cross the Hayes family, and we will destroy you!"
