Chapter 154: Chapter 154

“Make sure everything goes perfectly,” Sophia instructed, swirling her wine glass.

“It will be handled,” the man assured before slipping away unnoticed.

Isabella remained completely unaware of Sophia’s scheming.

The following day, Isabella sorted through job applications, her expression tense.

Finding qualified candidates proved more difficult than she anticipated.

She sighed, pressing her fingers to her temples. “I suppose I’ll need to extend the search.”

A sudden knock interrupted her thoughts.

“Come in.”

The door opened, revealing a sharply dressed young man.

He carried himself with undeniable confidence.

“Good morning, Miss Scott. I’m Julian Blackwood, applying for the designer role.”

Isabella studied him, noting his polished appearance and direct demeanor.

“Please sit, Mr. Blackwood.”

Julian took a seat, offering his résumé and design portfolio.

“I’ve followed your career, Miss Scott. Your reputation in Geneva’s design community is well-known.”

Isabella gave a slight smile, carefully examining his materials.

His designs were striking, original, and commercially viable.

They left a strong impression.

“Your portfolio is quite remarkable,” Isabella noted, setting it down with genuine appreciation.

“Thank you, Miss Scott.”

“I need someone capable of leading projects independently and upholding high standards,” Isabella explained clearly.

“That won’t be a problem. I’m fully prepared for that responsibility,” Julian responded with assurance. “I also bring established client connections.”

He retrieved a folder from his bag. “These are my recent collaborative ventures. Please review them.”

Isabella accepted the documents, her eyes scanning the contents quickly.

Her expression shifted to one of mild astonishment.

Julian’s client list included several prominent luxury brands.

“Miss Scott, I have one condition,” Julian stated, his tone serious. “I’d like to finalize our agreement promptly.”

Isabella met his gaze, a faint sense of unease stirring within her.

His qualifications were undoubtedly impressive.

His potential was obvious.

Yet, his urgency felt slightly off.

After a brief moment of consideration, Isabella reached a decision.

“Very well. I agree to hire you, but with a one-month probation period. Your salary will be as discussed, but the formal contract will be signed after probation,” she stated firmly.

Julian’s expression tightened almost imperceptibly.

“Miss Scott, I assure you of my commitment.”

“I don’t doubt your commitment, Mr. Blackwood,” Isabella replied. “But business requires certain precautions. If these terms are acceptable, report tomorrow at nine.”

Julian concealed his irritation, forcing a polite nod. “Understood. I look forward to working with you.”

Once outside the office, Julian’s pleasant facade dissolved.

He immediately pulled out his phone, dialing a number with tense fingers.

His voice was low and strained as he spoke.
