Chapter 253: Chapter 253

The first light of dawn crept into the studio.

Isabella finally set down her pencil. Her body ached from hours of immobility.

She stood and stretched, her muscles protesting. A new design began to form in her mind. A design that didn't require the impossible.

Her phone buzzed on the desk. A message from Lucas’s assistant.

Mr. Grant has a delivery for you. It will arrive within the hour.

A flicker of confusion, then a surge of apprehension. What could he be sending?

She walked to the window, watching the city slowly wake up. The sky was a soft blend of orange and purple.

An hour later, a secure courier arrived. He presented a small, familiar velvet box.

Her heart hammered against her ribs. With trembling fingers, she opened it.

The Rosalia Pink Diamond lay nestled inside, glowing with a soft, mesmerizing light.

A note was tucked beside it.

For the Decade’s Vow. - L.G.

She stared at the diamond, then at the note. Emotions warred within her—shock, gratitude, and a deep, unsettling confusion.

Why would he do this?

How did he even know?

The questions swirled, but the diamond was here. Her collection was saved.

Yet, the gift felt heavy. It came with unspoken strings, with a history she didn't understand.

She closed the box, her mind racing. This changed everything.

And nothing.

A sharp knock cut through the quiet.

Isabella looked up from her work. “Come in.”

The door opened. Oliver stepped inside, holding a small velvet box.

“Miss Scott, this is from Mr. Grant,” he said, offering it to her.

She took it, her curiosity piqued. She lifted the lid.

Inside lay a magnificent diamond necklace. A large Rosalia pink diamond glittered at its center.

Her breath caught. She stared, stunned.

It was the exact pink diamond she had been searching for. The one missing from her latest design. How had Lucas found it?

“Where did he get this?” she asked quickly.

Oliver paused. “It belonged to his mother. A birthday gift from last year.”

Isabella’s expression shifted. He gave her his mother’s necklace? Her fingers tightened on the box.

After a long moment, she spoke. “Thank him for me.”

Oliver nodded and left.

Alone again, Isabella sighed deeply. She understood Lucas was trying to help her through this crisis. Carefully, she placed the necklace back. She couldn't keep it.

It was too significant. A personal gift from a son to his mother. Accepting it felt wrong.

She had already devised a new plan to solve her problem.

She only accepted it now to avoid upsetting Lucas.

She would return it once everything was settled.

Another soft knock came at the door.

Oliver entered again, his face grim.

“No news from the airport, Miss Scott. All flights are still grounded.”

Isabella shook her head, her dark hair falling across her face.

“Stop checking,” she said firmly.

Oliver looked like he wanted to argue but stayed silent.

“Give the team two days off. They need it,” she instructed.

“Two days off?” Oliver sounded surprised. “Now? During this crisis?”

“Yes. Do it,” Isabella insisted, her voice leaving no room for debate.

Worried, he gave her a concerned look. Then he nodded and left.

He walked into the common area where the team was gathered, their faces tense as they discussed the missing diamond.
