Isabella’s gaze sharpened the instant he turned around.
Standing there was Julian Foster, Sophia’s most trusted assistant.
Julian ended his call, a smug grin spreading across his face. He walked toward Isabella and Victoria, holding a jewelry box with its lid slightly ajar, offering a glimpse of the treasures inside.
“Enough of this performance,” Julian said arrogantly, eyeing both women with open contempt. “I never touched her. She dropped it herself, and now she’s trying to blame me? Know your place.”
Tears streamed down Victoria’s face. “That’s not true. You pushed me. I was holding the Dewy Hibiscus, and you barged right into me. I didn’t even have time to react.”
Julian let out a mocking laugh, his expression full of scorn. “Be careful what you say. Accusations like that can get you in serious trouble. Admit your clumsiness now, or you’ll regret it later.”
Victoria flinched, tightening her grip on Isabella’s arm for support.
Isabella’s expression darkened as she fought to control her rising fury. “What exactly are you implying, Julian Foster?”
Unfazed, Julian met her gaze, his smirk widening. “It’s simple. Your employee broke the pieces herself and is now blaming me, isn’t that right?”
He glanced dismissively at Victoria, his voice dripping with disdain. “Quite pretty for someone so uncoordinated. If you’re trying to get ahead, find a more honest way.”
Victoria’s face flushed with humiliation and rage at the blatant insult. Her sobs grew louder.
“You… you should be ashamed!” she cried, her body trembling as she pointed an accusatory finger at him.
Isabella had reached her limit with Julian’s arrogance and insults.
In one swift motion, she snatched the jewelry box from his hands and threw it to the ground. The box shattered on impact, scattering its contents. A diamond necklace clinked loudly as it rolled across the floor.
Horror washed over Julian’s face as he scrambled to collect the diamonds. “Have you lost your mind? Do you have any idea how much this is worth?”
Isabella stood over him, her gaze icy. “Julian, you will pay for what you’ve done.”
The butler of Silverwood Estate, alerted by the commotion, rushed to the scene. He was shocked by the chaos before him.
“Miss Scott, what… what happened here?” he asked urgently, taking in the disordered scene.
“You arrived just in time. This man deliberately destroyed my jewelry and verbally attacked my team member!” Isabella stated coldly, her accusation clear.
Julian, still on his knees gathering diamonds, jerked his head up, his eyes burning with hatred. “You’re lying—”
“Enough!” Isabella cut him off sharply. “The truth is obvious. Please, call the police immediately.”
