Chapter 429: Chapter 429

“She is stable for now, but her condition remains fragile. Complete rest is essential. Any further stress could lead to severe complications,” the doctor stated with a serious tone.

“Thank you, Doctor,” Isabella replied gratefully.

After seeing the doctor out, Isabella returned to Eleanor’s bedside. She watched her grandmother with deep concern.

“How are you feeling, Grandma? Is there any pain?”

Eleanor looked at Isabella with loving yet troubled eyes.

“Isabella, you must be honest with me. Did you truly come between another woman and her relationship?”

The question took Isabella by surprise.

She was confused by Eleanor’s sudden inquiry.

“Grandma, what are you talking about? I would never do something like that…”

“But that woman told me you did,” Eleanor whispered, her voice trembling slightly.

A cold dread washed over Isabella. She knew Eleanor was referring to Sophia.

Eleanor’s memory of that confrontation was painfully clear.

“She accused you of being the other woman. She said you destroyed her relationship. And Liam… who is his father?”

Isabella lowered her head, remaining silent.

She did not want to burden Eleanor with those painful details. Yet the worry in her grandmother’s eyes demanded an answer.

“Grandma,” Isabella began, taking a steadying breath. “I never interfered in anyone’s relationship. Liam is Ethan’s son.”

Her voice was soft but firm.

Eleanor’s expression filled with sorrow as she gazed at Isabella.

“My dear child, you have carried such a heavy burden alone.”

“Grandma…” Isabella’s voice broke. Tears welled in her eyes as she squeezed Eleanor’s hand. “Please, you must keep this a secret. Don’t tell anyone who Liam’s father is.”

Eleanor’s eyes were full of emotion.

“I promise, my dear.”

Meanwhile, in the CEO’s office atop Blackwood Enterprises headquarters, a knock interrupted Ethan’s concentration.

“Come in,” Ethan commanded.

Benjamin entered respectfully and approached the desk.

“Mr. Blackwood, Mrs. Vance’s condition has stabilized. She is out of immediate danger.”

A slight relief softened Ethan’s features.

“Additionally, your grandfather has arranged a meeting with your wife tomorrow at ten a.m.,” Benjamin continued.

“Understood,” Ethan replied, his voice even though a shadow of concern flickered in his eyes. “Ensure the meeting proceeds without any interruptions.”

“Yes, Mr. Blackwood.”

With that, Benjamin left the office.

Ethan turned his gaze to the darkening city skyline outside.

Suddenly, the phone on his desk rang sharply.

He pressed the speaker button.

“Mr. Blackwood, Miss Reed is here. She is demanding to see you immediately,” the receptionist’s tense voice announced.
