Chapter 498: Chapter 498

Eleanor Grant could no longer remain still.

She shot up from her seat, grabbed her designer purse, and marched toward the door.

“I must go to the company. I need to find Lucas. I need the truth.”

“Aunt Eleanor, I’ll come with you,” Daniel Ellis offered, quickly following her.

They left the villa, got into the car, and sped toward Grant Group headquarters.

Meanwhile, in the lobby of Grant Group, Isabella Scott sat on a plush couch, her eyes fixed on the elevator doors.

Anxiety burned inside her.

She couldn't just wait.

She pulled out her phone and dialed Lucas’s number again.

“Beep… beep… beep…”

The monotonous tone continued.

Her heart sank further with each passing second.

Just as despair began to set in, the elevator from the parking garage chimed.

A group of people stepped out.

Among them was a figure Isabella recognized instantly.

Eleanor Grant.

Why was she here?

Shock and confusion washed over Isabella.

Before she could stand, Eleanor’s sharp eyes found her.

Their gazes locked.

Eleanor’s eyes flashed with icy rage.

The sharp click of her heels echoed on the marble floor as she stormed over.

Without a word, Eleanor raised her hand and delivered a stinging slap across Isabella’s face.

“Pak!”

The sound echoed through the quiet lobby.

Every eye turned toward them.

Isabella held her stinging cheek, utterly stunned.

“Why… Why did you hit me?”

Whispers erupted around them.

Eleanor’s face was contorted with fury.

“How dare you ask?” she hissed, her voice sharp and venomous. “Isabella Scott! You are nothing but trouble. You are the reason Grant Group is in chaos! How could this happen if not for you? You deceitful little schemer! Was ensnaring my son not enough? Now you must destroy our company as well?”

Her voice grew louder, drawing more attention.

“I did nothing!” Isabella cried, fighting back tears. “I haven’t done anything wrong!”

The receptionist paled, terrified.

She had never seen Mrs. Grant like this—usually so composed, now shouting and striking someone in public.

Discreetly, the receptionist pulled out her phone and messaged the CEO’s assistant.

“Mrs. Grant just slapped Miss Scott in the lobby. Situation critical. Please come quickly!”

She glanced around nervously, afraid of being noticed.

Isabella trembled, not from fear, but from utter confusion.

She straightened her posture, trying to regain some dignity.

“You still deny it?” Eleanor sneered, her gaze like a poisoned blade. “Stop acting, Isabella Scott! Do you think no one sees your disgrace? You played with Lucas’s feelings. You made fools of our family! And now, because of you, Blackwood Enterprises is targeting us. Are you satisfied? Did you get what you wanted, you shameless witch!”

Tears streamed down Eleanor’s face, her voice growing hoarse.

“What did our family ever do to deserve you? To be entangled with someone like you…”

She clutched her chest, overcome with emotion.
