Chapter 202: Chapter 203

"Liam's gone missing?!" Margaret's voice trembled with panic. "Didn't he go to that birthday party with his friends?"

Alexander's tone was grim. "He left his phone and smartwatch behind. He didn’t want to be tracked."

Margaret clutched the edge of the counter. "He's usually with Victoria, isn’t he? Have you checked with her?"

"Not yet. I'm calling her now."

Liam was Margaret’s pride and joy, and the thought of him missing sent a chill down her spine. "Keep me updated the moment you hear anything—actually, I’ll go out with Charlotte and start searching myself."

The moment the call ended, Alexander dialed Victoria.

Victoria sounded surprised when she answered. "Liam isn’t with me... What? He’s missing?"

A sharp unease twisted in her chest. If something happened to Liam, all her carefully laid plans to win Alexander back would crumble. Children were far easier to manipulate than grown men.

She hesitated, then carefully suggested, "Alex... do you think Amy might have taken him?"

Alexander frowned. "Eleanor saw Liam leave on his own. No one picked him up."

Victoria’s voice softened to a whisper. "He deliberately left his phone and watch behind. If he was coming to see us, why would he hide it? Unless... someone convinced him to."

"You said Amy agreed to the divorce, didn’t you?"

"Maybe she changed her mind. What if she took Liam to prove he can’t live without her? She might be trying to force you to reconsider—using him as leverage."

"Besides, Liam always spends weekends at your mother’s, but he lied to her yesterday. That means he had a plan."

"Maybe Amy contacted him beforehand and convinced him to run away."

Alexander fell silent for a long moment before finally saying, "I don’t think so."

He remembered the cold determination in Amy’s eyes when she demanded the divorce. It hadn’t felt like a bluff. She had seemed genuinely done with him.

Victoria stiffened. Alexander, who had never trusted Amy before, was suddenly defending her?

Had his feelings toward her shifted?

It must have been Amy’s little performance the other day. Alexander had always been drawn to talent—if a woman was just a pretty face, he lost interest fast. That was why she had caught his eye in the first place.

No. She couldn’t let Alexander start seeing Amy in a new light.

Meanwhile, at the amusement park, Amy was blissfully unaware of Liam’s disappearance. She was about to take Oliver to the next ride when her phone buzzed.

Alexander’s name flashed on the screen.

She hesitated before answering.

"Alexander, are you calling about the divorce?"

He had wanted a clean break, but Amy had made it clear the next day that wasn’t happening. She had given the Blackwood family an heir, cared for Liam and Alexander for five years, and walked away with nothing? Unacceptable.

She wasn’t in a hurry to remarry, and with Sebastian’s help, her lawyer had already filed the paperwork. Now, it was just a waiting game.

Her lawyer had warned her—if Alexander contested the divorce, it might not go through on the first try.
