Chapter 204: Chapter 205

Alexander's face drained of color. "What did you just say?!"

His assistant's panicked voice crackled through the phone. "Young Master Liam fell into the lake! An ambulance just took him to the hospital!"

At the amusement park, Amy's cheerful mood shattered the moment Alexander's call came through.

Sebastian, ever perceptive, gently suggested, "Amy, since Liam is missing, we should help search for him. We won't enjoy ourselves if we're worried the whole time."

Amy's gaze flickered, like a candle flame caught in a draft, lost in thought.

Oliver, standing beside them, added softly, "Liam and I go to the same preschool. We're friends, and I'd be really sad if something happened to him."

Amy gave Oliver a complicated look. At preschool, Liam had often been cruel to Oliver—she'd been called in twice to mediate their fights. Yet here Oliver was, calling Liam his friend without hesitation. The maturity in his forgiveness was heartbreaking.

Sebastian nodded in agreement. "We should look for him. Regardless of everything, Liam is still your son. Even if it were any other child from preschool, we'd still help."

Sebastian, with his easygoing demeanor, had a heart far softer than he let on. It was this kindness that had shaped Oliver into such a thoughtful boy.

After a brief pause, Amy gave a quiet nod.

As they turned toward the exit, Oliver suddenly froze, his eyes fixed on something in the distance.

Amy noticed his stillness and crouched beside him. "Oliver? What's wrong?"

Oliver blinked, snapping out of his daze. "Oh—nothing. Dad, Amy, I just need to use the restroom."

"Do you want me to come with you?" Amy offered.

"No, I can go by myself," Oliver replied quickly.

He had always been fiercely independent, never one to rely on adults for such small things.

Amy smiled. "Alright, call if you need anything."

The moment Oliver disappeared around the corner, Amy's phone rang again.

Alexander.

Her frown deepened as she rejected the call without hesitation.

Once upon a time, a call from Alexander would have sent her heart racing. Now, all it brought was irritation.

The phone buzzed again immediately—Alexander, relentless as ever.

Sebastian glanced at her, understanding. "You should answer. Liam is missing. He must be frantic."

Amy exhaled sharply. Not out of concern for Alexander's distress, but because she knew he wouldn’t stop until she picked up.

After excusing herself, she stepped into a quiet alcove and answered.

"Liam is missing, so go find him. Stop calling me."

Alexander's voice was ice. "You're at the amusement park. So is Liam. Are you seriously telling me you're not with him?"

Amy nearly laughed in disbelief. "Just because we're in the same place doesn’t mean we're together. There are thousands of people here. Why don’t you accuse someone else?"

Alexander shot back, "Then explain why you're at the amusement park the exact same day he is."
