Chapter 21: Chapter 22

Tears shimmered in Victoria's eyes as her voice cracked. "Ms. Sinclair, please don't remind me. I know my days are numbered."

"You're absolutely right. Everything Alexander gave me was just pretend. I'm so sorry. That wedding rightfully belonged to you—"

A thunderous voice cut through the air. "What do you mean fate favors Victoria? Amy, are you wishing death upon her?"

Amy turned sharply to see three figures looming in the shadows.

Nathan charged forward, his face twisted with fury that made the atmosphere crackle. "Amy," he hissed, each word laced with venom, "how dare you slander Victoria's reputation? Have you gone completely insane?"

Dominic arched an eyebrow, his composure a stark contrast to Nathan's rage. "Calm down, Nathan," he interjected smoothly. "Accusations without proof are just as reckless."

But Nathan wasn't having it. "What proof do we need? You and Alex heard her yourself! She's jealous of Victoria's charm and implies fate favors her like some twisted death wish!"

"This hypocrite plays the innocent victim in public but bullies Victoria behind closed doors. If we hadn't caught her red-handed, who knows how long this charade would've continued!"

Nathan's lips curled into a sneer. "No denying it now, is there?"

Amy remained unshaken, her expression cool and resolute, betraying neither guilt nor fear. The moment Victoria's demeanor shifted, she'd suspected they weren't alone.

And just like clockwork, Victoria had pulled her classic stunt again.

Noticing Amy's glance, Dominic gave a subtle nod of acknowledgment. "Nathan," he warned, his tone deceptively mild, "Amy is still Alexander's wife. Any missteps are not yours to rectify."

Nathan hesitated, his momentum faltering. He turned to Alexander. "Alex, you heard everything. You can't possibly let her treat Victoria this way, can you?"

Alexander's jaw was clenched tight, his entire frame radiating icy displeasure. "Amy," he commanded, his voice like frozen steel, "apologize."

Nathan smirked triumphantly. "Alex is furious. You're in deep trouble now, Amy."

Ignoring Nathan's taunts, Amy stayed silent, her gaze steady and unyielding.

Dominic raised an eyebrow, intrigued. Was it just him, or was Amy different today? Normally, she'd be scrambling to defend herself. But now, she seemed almost... indifferent.

Alexander's frustration mounted as he studied Amy's detached expression. The anger coiled inside him refused to dissipate.

Nathan had told him Amy was here for leisure. She was a married woman—shouldn't she act like one instead of frequenting places like this?

"Amy," Alexander's voice was glacial. "Apologize to Victoria. Now."

Nathan added fuel to the fire. "And make it proper. A bow would suffice."

Amy's lips curled in disdain. She had no words left for them. Without sparing another glance, she moved to walk past Alexander.

But as she brushed by him, his hand shot out, gripping her wrist like a vice.

"Amy," his voice was a razor-sharp command above her, "I said apologize. Did you not hear me?"
