Nathan wanted Alexander to discard Amy, leaving her abandoned and utterly alone.
But the idea of Amy walking away from Alexander and flourishing was unbearable to witness.
Nathan loathed Amy with every fiber of his being. Only when she suffered did he feel any satisfaction.
In the past, he had eagerly awaited the day Alexander and Amy would divorce, craving the sight of her broken and weeping.
Now, though, with Amy demanding a divorce, he was determined not to let her have it so easily.
"Alex," Nathan said, his voice dripping with disdain, "haven’t you noticed how different Amy’s been acting? She never used to argue with you, and now she’s bold enough to demand a divorce!"
"I bet she’s found someone else. That’s why she’s in such a hurry to leave you."
"Lately, she’s been spending all her time with Sebastian Kingsley—Oliver’s father—even helping him with his kids. Who knows what they’re really doing together?"
"And don’t forget about that brother of hers. Victoria saw them having dinner once. What’s that about?"
"That greedy woman is demanding ten million to fund her new life with other men. Absolutely not!" Nathan seethed, turning to Alexander.
"Alex, marriage is easy—divorce is war. Don’t let her walk away with everything. If you don’t want the divorce, we can drag this out. Make her regret ever crossing you."
"Even if she takes it to court, we can stall for years. She’ll never get what she wants."
"Meanwhile, we’ll transfer every asset legally so she gets nothing."
"Why is she so desperate to leave you? It’s all about the money!"
"Not only will she get nothing, but we’ll make sure she loses everything."
Nathan had connections in all the right—and wrong—places. He’d seen enough ugly divorces to know how to play dirty.
In their world, high-profile splits always ended in vicious battles over money.
Walking away empty-handed? Rare.
The uglier the fight, the clearer it was—love was long gone.
And when love died, all that remained was the hunger to destroy.
Some exes became lifelong enemies, still clawing at each other years later.
Nathan had heard every twisted story imaginable.
In their circles, people hid assets, forged debts, and even bankrupted their spouses out of spite.
Some men walked away richer than before.
Nathan prided himself on being a master of manipulation.
He smirked. "With Liam’s custody in our hands, we can demand child support from Amy. Given his lifestyle, we’ll take a hundred thousand a month. Let’s see how she handles that."
"By the time we’re done, she’ll crawl back to you, begging for mercy."
The cruelty of the plan made Dominic grimace.
"Nathan, Amy and Alex were married. They have a child together. Do we really need to go this far?"
Nathan scoffed. "Far? This is just reality. She’s the one who wants out. Once she tastes how brutal life can be, she’ll never dare defy him again."
Dominic sighed. "Alex, don’t listen to this. We should think carefully—"
But when he turned to Alexander, he found him swirling his wine, deep in thought.
Dominic’s stomach dropped.
"Alex… you’re not actually considering this, are you?"
