Chapter 347: Chapter 350

Alexander and Victoria departed, taking Liam with them.

This time, no one dared to interfere.

Once they were gone, Samantha exploded, her voice thick with indignation. "Celeste, what's the deal with Liam and Alexander? Why do they always treat you like you're beneath them? Don't they know you studied at the Solmaris Conservatory?"

Amy took a slow sip of water before answering. "Maybe they don’t."

Sebastian studied her carefully. "When we investigated your background, there was nothing after high school. Why is that?"

"I left the country before graduation," Amy replied smoothly.

Sebastian's eyebrows lifted in surprise. "Even so, there should still be records. There shouldn’t be a complete void."

Amy lowered her lashes, shielding the emotions flickering in her eyes.

"That’s because I studied under a different name abroad. Those records were intentionally altered. It’s no surprise you couldn’t find anything."

Sebastian’s gaze sharpened. "Altered intentionally?"

Samantha glanced at Amy, noticing she wasn’t holding back. Encouraged, she pressed further.

"Mr. Kingsley, have you heard of Harrington Enterprises?"

Sebastian’s expression darkened instantly. "Which Harrington Enterprises? Don’t tell me you mean the one in Solmaris?"

Samantha nodded. "Exactly. That Harrington Enterprises."

Sebastian’s eyes locked onto Amy. "Would you care to explain?"

The Kingsleys had helped her immensely. Sebastian deserved the truth.

Amy hesitated before speaking, her voice quiet but firm.

"It’s a cliché story, really. My parents married for business. From the start, my father never truly loved my mother. He was still obsessed with his first love. Even after my mother gave birth to his child, he kept seeing that woman for years."

"Eventually, my mother gave up. She let him go. Only then did my father realize he’d actually fallen for her. He came back, begging for forgiveness, showering her with devotion until she finally opened her heart to him again."

"A few years later, she gave birth to twin boys. True to his word, my father cut all ties with his past."

"Then, my mother’s family made disastrous business decisions, nearly bankrupting them. But my father never judged her. He stood by her, supporting her unconditionally. Because of him, their company barely survived."

Amy would never forget the peace in her mother’s eyes when she spoke of those days—a serenity Amy had never seen before.

Her voice grew distant. "Just when she thought life would finally settle… tragedy struck."

"On their anniversary, my father planned a sailing trip. But a storm hit. He insisted she take the first rescue boat. He was swept away by the waves."

"When she returned, she spent a fortune searching for him. But nothing ever came of it."

"She had three children to raise. Somehow, she pulled herself together and took over his company."

"Three years passed. Everyone assumed he was dead. But my mother never stopped hoping."

"Then, one day, she heard rumors. A man who looked just like him had been spotted in a remote fishing village."
