Alexander was still clueless. "Genevieve? You mean the Harrington heiress? How in the world would she know Amy? Victoria, are you absolutely certain about this?"
Victoria's voice was firm. "If I hadn't seen Amy standing right beside Genevieve when they visited me and Alexander, I wouldn't have believed it either. But it's true—they're acquainted."
Since Victoria was so adamant, Alexander had no choice but to accept this strange revelation.
He frowned, voicing his confusion. "Why would Genevieve go out of her way to help Amy? Do you think Amy has something on her?"
Victoria scoffed at his ridiculous suggestion. "Honestly, what possible leverage could Amy Sinclair have over someone like Genevieve Harrington?"
Alexander rubbed his temple, realizing how absurd that sounded. Then another thought struck him. "Maybe Amy saved Genevieve's life once, and this is just Genevieve repaying the debt?"
Victoria's expression shifted slightly. That… actually made more sense than anything else.
At this point, she would rather believe Amy had performed some heroic act than accept the possibility that Amy, like Genevieve, moved in elite circles.
She glanced at Alexander, who had been unusually quiet, his face shadowed with concern.
"Alexander, forget about inviting Ms. Harrington. We can't secure the other two either… If they don’t want to support me, fine. But I just saw the news—Genevieve is already promoting Amy’s concert. With her backing Amy, who would even bother attending mine?"
Nathan’s face flushed with anger. "That Amy—she’s unbelievable! First, she schedules her concert on the same night as yours, and now she’s stealing your special guests. She’s deliberately trying to sabotage you!"
He turned to Alexander, eyes burning with frustration. "Alexander, we’ve been too lenient. Call in that favor Nathaniel owes you. If Genevieve won’t respect us, she’ll have to answer to the Harringtons—or her own fiancé."
Victoria’s gaze flickered at the mention of Nathaniel’s debt to Alexander. She had heard whispers of it before but had never dared ask Alexander to use it for her sake. She had hoped to save it for something bigger—perhaps to secure an introduction to Aurora Harrington after their marriage.
But now, Amy had completely overshadowed her. Victoria couldn’t tolerate it.
If burning that favor meant humiliating Amy, then so be it.
Her eyes lingered on Alexander, silently urging him to act. She knew he just needed a little push.
The next morning, Amy received a call from Victoria.
"Ms. Sinclair, about that performance I mentioned—the rehearsal is tonight. Are you still coming?"
Amy had been so immersed in planning her concert with Genevieve and the others that she’d nearly forgotten about Victoria’s invitation. The reminder brought everything back.
There were still three months until her concert. She couldn’t afford to focus solely on that—she was starting from scratch, unlike Genevieve or even Benjamin. The only reason she’d managed to secure their involvement was through personal connections and favors.
But favors had limits.
Ultimately, she would have to rely on her own talent.
With that thought, she answered without hesitation.
"Of course."
