Chapter 481: Chapter 486

Amy watched as Alexander and Nathan left the room, her instincts screaming that Victoria was about to make her move.

She had seen this pattern too many times before.

Without hesitation, she discreetly tapped her phone, activating the recording function.

When Victoria had called her earlier, insisting they meet, Amy had known it wasn’t just for a casual chat. After all, Victoria had suffered too many humiliating defeats lately. Even though she had managed to take over Amy’s studio and force her into composing music for her, it had cost her a staggering ten million dollars.

Victoria strutted around as if she had won some grand victory, but in reality, she had gained nothing substantial.

Meanwhile, Amy was sitting comfortably on Alexander’s ten million—a perfect nest egg and the ideal startup fund for her next move.

If this had happened in the past, and a wealthy buyer had offered that kind of money for their studio, they might have accepted without hesitation. Who would refuse such a fortune?

But this time, the buyers were Victoria and Alexander. There was no way Amy would let them get what they wanted so easily.

After their recent clashes, Amy was certain Victoria would strike again.

And she was ready.

Victoria’s schemes were never subtle, but Amy had to admit—she was clever. She rarely got her hands dirty directly. Instead, she preferred to manipulate from the shadows, letting others do her bidding.

Pushing Amy into the lake herself? That had been unexpected. Even with the security cameras disabled, what if there had been an unseen witness? If Victoria had been caught, her carefully crafted "sweet and innocent" image would have shattered instantly.

Yet she had taken the risk. That alone showed just how desperate she had become after so many losses.

And desperation made people reckless.

Still...

Amy glanced at her phone, water droplets sliding down the screen. Frustration flickered in her eyes.

One thing had caught her off guard—her phone was waterlogged.

She tried turning it on, but the screen remained stubbornly black.

She definitely had the recording of her conversation with Victoria, but exposing her now? Impossible.

But Amy wasn’t worried. Once she got the phone fixed, the recording would still be there.

Her gaze shifted from her phone to Victoria’s face.

Victoria was already rattled. A little bluffing wouldn’t hurt.

Nathan, oblivious to the tension, was still shouting at her from across the room.

"Go on, play it! You think I’m scared of you?"

Amy ignored him and locked eyes with Victoria.

"Victoria, do you really want me to play it?"

Panic flashed in Victoria’s eyes.

She didn’t doubt for a second that Amy had been recording. There had been incidents before, and every time, Amy had produced damning evidence.

Victoria cursed herself. She had forgotten—Amy never met her without secretly recording their conversations. How had she overlooked something so crucial?

Thinking back to what she had just said, cold sweat trickled down her spine.

If Amy played that recording, Alexander would be furious.

And just now, she had already sensed the shift in his attitude—he hadn’t immediately defended her like before. He hadn’t taken her side or scolded Amy. He had only told Amy to apologize and let it go.

He was clearly favoring Amy.

Victoria clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms.

She lowered her head, masking her anxiety with a soft, obedient smile.

"Nathan, let it go," she murmured sweetly. "Alexander is right. The concert is just around the corner—we can’t afford any more drama."

She paused, then added, "Since Alexander has spoken, I’ll do as he says."
