Amy's lips curled into a cold smile as she ended the call without hesitation. When Alexander tried calling back, she silenced her phone and tossed it into her bag.
The Blackwoods never failed to amuse her. They only remembered her existence when they needed something. How convenient.
And yet, they still had the audacity to act superior while asking for favors. Amy scoffed. She had been far too lenient with them in the past.
The diner was quiet when she arrived. Sebastian was already seated, his sharp eyes lifting as she approached.
"Sorry for keeping you waiting," Amy murmured, sliding into the booth across from him.
Sebastian waved a dismissive hand. "I just got here."
They had unfinished business. The divorce wasn't something they could settle in passing, especially not in a hospital hallway. Today was for details.
"So," Sebastian began, stirring his coffee. "What's your strategy?"
Amy leaned forward. "If I don't walk away empty-handed, what can I realistically claim?"
Sebastian smirked. "Half of everything acquired during your marriage—in theory. But Blackwood Enterprises has deep pockets and deeper connections. Getting what you're owed won't be simple." He paused. "Luckily, I know lawyers who specialize in making the impossible happen."
Amy exhaled. "What if I have proof of his infidelity?"
Sebastian's gaze sharpened. "What kind of proof?"
"Yesterday, Alexander and Victoria attended a family event as Liam's parents." Her fingers tightened around her cup. "There's also their sham wedding and other... compromising situations. Wouldn't that constitute bigamy?"
Sebastian chuckled darkly. "Amy, let me be blunt—Alexander has the power to erase evidence if he wants to. Even with proof, winning against him is an uphill battle."
Her chest tightened.
Then Sebastian's tone shifted. "But if he wants to play dirty, so can we."
Amy studied him. "You have a plan?"
"Naturally." He took a slow sip of coffee. "The Blackwoods care about their image. If we turn public opinion against them, they'll come crawling to negotiate—just like last time."
Last time. When she'd demanded a hundred million, and Alexander had folded.
Amy hesitated.
Sebastian noticed. "You're not considering an amicable split, are you?"
"No," she admitted. "But I don't want this to hurt Liam."
Sebastian's expression softened. "Are you thinking of custody? Amy, Liam is the Blackwood heir. That fight would be brutal."
"I know. I'm not trying to take him." She sighed. "I just don't want him caught in the crossfire."
If this became public, Liam would face scrutiny, rumors, even cruelty. Even if she couldn't keep him, she refused to let him suffer.
