Chapter 139: Chapter 139

Ethan's face darkened instantly as his door burst open just as he removed his shirt.

Amanda stood there, draped in an ostentatiously gaudy gown, her face caked with heavy makeup as she appeared in his private space.

"Oh! I'm so sorry. I must have the wrong room..." Amanda exclaimed with her painfully transparent acting, making a show of turning to leave.

Simultaneously, she deliberately stepped on the hem of her own dress, propelling herself directly into his arms.

Ethan instinctively moved forward to catch her, and Amanda seized the opportunity to press her cheek firmly against his chest.

It felt solid, even springy!

Ethan frowned, immediately recognizing her intentions.

But just as he prepared to push her away, his eyes caught Elizabeth standing coolly at the doorway, watching their entangled forms with detached amusement.

A mocking smirk played on her lips.

Were they really this desperate? Or perhaps hotel rooms had become too mundane for their antics?

Nevertheless, she spoke calmly to Ethan. "You forgot your bowtie in my car."

They had both come from the set of Pomp and Circumstance, with Elizabeth's manager eagerly inviting Ethan into their luxury vehicle.

Ethan immediately shoved Amanda away, leaving her fuming with suppressed rage.

She knew it! Something was definitely going on between these two—why else would Ethan's bowtie be in Elizabeth's car?

She even suspected Elizabeth of stealing her role... by seducing Ethan!

The more she thought about it, the more infuriating it became!

As Ethan approached Elizabeth to retrieve his bowtie, his fingers accidentally brushed against hers, and she immediately jerked her hand away as if touching something contaminated.

Ethan's hand hung suspended in the air while Elizabeth stated, "You two can carry on."

With those words, she turned and strode away confidently.

Ethan watched her retreating form, blinking slowly... before noticing from his peripheral vision that Amanda had closed in on him again.

"What's your relationship with Elizabeth, Mr. Parker? Why would your bowtie be in her car?" Amanda asked in her most coquettish, affectionate tone.

"Did you need something specific, Ms. Mitchell?" Ethan asked, taking a deliberate step back to maintain clear distance between them.

Amanda felt irritation flare but suppressed it. "Just paying a social visit, and to thank you for your direction during that commercial—"

"I need to change now, so please leave if there's nothing important!" Ethan suddenly snapped.

His cold demeanor toward her contrasted sharply with how he had reacted to Elizabeth moments earlier!

"I'm willing to play the casting couch game too, Mr. Parker," Amanda declared with serious expression. "I won't demand anything else—"

"Leave immediately if you wish to avoid further humiliation," Ethan growled icily. "Or I can't guarantee the public won't discover how eager you are for the casting couch!"

Amanda paled dramatically, stunned that Ethan would treat her this way.
