Elise frowned as William continued solemnly, "And when that happens, half my fortune will be yours."
Her heart skipped a beat.
They had only known each other for six months.
Their relationship had been official for just four months.
And he was already talking about marriage?
No, he had probably planned their entire future together already!
"Let's go," he said, taking her hand and leading her casually to the next boutique.
Worried that William might purchase the entire shopping district, she quickly said, "I'm exhausted. Let's sit down over there or grab something cold."
"Alright," he agreed, guiding her toward a refreshment stand.
Meanwhile, all their purchases were being handled by hotel staff, coming and going in continuous streams.
Elise wanted ice cream, but as she contemplated flavors, William told the attendant, "One of each flavor, please."
The attendant, accustomed to wealthy tourists on Ayro Island, remained professionally composed.
Before the attendant could proceed, Elise intervened. "Just one chocolate sundae, please. I can't eat that much, and excessive cold food isn't healthy."
The attendant glanced at William for confirmation.
After receiving a nod, the attendant began preparing the order.
Elise suddenly remembered something. "You didn't order anything."
"Weren't you just saying too much cold food is unhealthy?" William countered.
Elise frowned—since when did he follow her advice so readily?
The attendant soon presented Elise with a sundae cone.
She took a delicate bite.
The creamy texture melted luxuriously on her tongue.
It was perfectly sweet without being overwhelming.
"Is it good?" William asked.
"Yes, delicious," she replied.
As she prepared for another bite, William suddenly leaned in and took a taste from the same spot.
Elise pursed her lips in surprise.
She watched as he calmly savored the bite. "It's really good."
"Why don't you get your own?" she asked.
"Too much cold food isn't healthy," he repeated.
Elise felt speechless. If only he would always listen this well!
She stared at the spot where he had bitten and took another taste herself.
The temptation was simply too strong.
Before she could enjoy another bite, William leaned in again.
"William," she protested, clearly annoyed.
"Too much cold food isn't healthy," he maintained.
"Then stop eating mine!" Elise snapped.
"No, I need to eat more so you'll eat less."
Elise was rendered speechless again.
Could she take back what she said about healthy eating?
They continued sharing the ice cream, taking alternating bites.
Snap!
The sudden shutter sound made them both turn.
A man with a professional camera stood before them.
Noticing Elise's displeasure, he quickly explained, "Hello! I'm a street photographer. I was passing by and saw you two sharing that sundae. The scene was so beautiful I couldn't resist capturing it. I'll delete it if you object, but I'd love to send it to you—it's truly a wonderful photo."
"Send it to me," William said, appearing completely unbothered.
Elise was surprised—since when did William not mind unauthorized photographs?
