Chapter 353: Chapter 353

"No, that can't be right..."

Helen shook her head repeatedly, her voice trembling.

"Then explain to me, where did all this money in your account come from?" Samantha pressed aggressively.

"I... I can't..."

Helen couldn't form a coherent explanation.

Samantha didn't waste any more time on her. She turned to face Judge Harrison. "Your Honor, I have a witness who wishes to testify."

"Approved."

A man in his early sixties entered the courtroom. He appeared slightly overwhelmed by the formal atmosphere, his eyes darting nervously around the room.

The moment Helen saw him, she completely lost her composure. Her face turned deathly pale.

Samantha approached the man calmly. "We're in court now, but there's no need to be afraid. Just answer my questions honestly."

"Alright." The man nodded repeatedly.

"What is your name?"

"Timothy Bennett."

"What is your profession?"

"I'm a reproduction artist."

"What do you primarily reproduce?"

"Ancient paintings, famous artworks... that sort of thing."

Timothy added, "I also specialize in handwriting replication."

"Could you demonstrate that for us right now?"

Before Timothy could respond, Victor stood up again.

"Your Honor, I object! The defense attorney is deliberately delaying court proceedings."

"This is crucial to the case," Samantha stated firmly. "I'm not delaying anything."

Judge Harrison hesitated briefly before warning, "Defense Attorney, please make your questioning efficient."

"Yes, Your Honor." Samantha nodded, then requested paper and pen from a court attendant, which she handed to Elise.

"Please sign this."

Elise signed her name on the paper.

Samantha then passed the signed paper to Timothy.

"Can you replicate this signature now?"

Timothy picked up the pen and signed Elise's name perfectly. The two signatures were identical.

A murmur spread through the courtroom.

Helen began trembling uncontrollably.

"I think everyone can see Timothy Bennett's remarkable talent for replication."

"I object!" Victor spoke up sharply. "I have reason to believe Timothy Bennett is providing false testimony for the defense. This entire demonstration appears rehearsed."

"Attorney Morgan, you're a prosecutor. Your duty is to seek justice, not to cover for others because of legal fees," Samantha retorted mockingly.

Victor's face flushed crimson at her words.

Though Samantha was junior to him in legal experience, she had just publicly humiliated him.

"We'll determine whether his testimony is false soon enough. Attorney Morgan, please remain calm. Don't slow down the trial's progress."

She was clearly referencing his earlier accusation about her delaying proceedings.

Victor fell silent, unable to counter her statement.

Samantha turned back to Timothy.

"Do you recognize anyone in this courtroom today?"

"Yes, I do." Timothy's gaze fixed directly on Helen. "I know her."

"How did you meet her?"

"We connected online. She contacted me through social media and said she had work for me."

"What kind of work was it?"
