Chapter 86: Chapter 86

"Sarah, what happened? Tell us!" Lydia hurried over to Sarah, her face full of concern.

She knew Sarah well enough to realize that only a handful of people could rattle her this much. The garden incident must have come to light, and now she needed to pin the blame on Sarah.

But Sarah wasn't having it. She yanked her hand away. "This is all because of your dumb idea!"

Ethan's face darkened, his voice icy. "Sarah, what are you talking about? That's your sister-in-law. What happened? Spill it!"

Lydia tried to keep her cool and added. "Sarah, whatever it is, just say it. It's just us here, no one else knows what happened."

Sarah shot her a look, suddenly realizing something, and then put on a deeply hurt expression, sobbing as she spoke. "Just now, Chris came over and told me that Alexander wanted to meet me here. Even though it seemed odd, I went upstairs."

"But when I got there, no Alexander-just somne middle-aged creep trying to assault me. I fought like hell to get away! Then I saw Wendy and Alexander show up together. Wendy's trying to set me up, make me look bad in front of Alexander!"

Juniper was shaking with rage, pointing at Wendy with pure hatred. "You vile woman, you did this to Sarah! You're nothing but a venomous snake!"

She turned to Alexander, her face pained. "Alexander, Wendy sent someone to hurt my daughter. As the host, you need to see the truth and

do what's right!"

Wendy's lips curled into a mocking smile. "What a way to twist the story!Who's the one really playing dirty here?"

"I'm telling the truth!" Sarah screamed, her voice raw.

Ethan was furious, his chest tight with anger. "Since Wendy denies it, let's get Carl out here to settle who's really at fault."

Alexander's face was calm as he scanned the crowd, his gaze landing on Wendy. His tone was even. "What do you think?"

Wendy replied coolly, "I have nothing to hide. If that's the case, let's do as the Collins family suggests and bring Mr. Carl Turner to judge who's right and who's wrong."

Alexander immediately sent someone to fetch Carl and invited several highly respected and influential figures from Aurora City to join them.

The party hadn't even officially started yet, but it was already thrown into chaos by this series of events. Carl's face was dark, clearly displeased.

In his eyes, Wendy, as Ethan's ex-wife, should have been a matter for the Collins family. Now it was blown out of proportion, involving the Turner family, which was absurd.

Once everyone was gathered, they first listened to Sarah's tearful accusations, followed by Wendy calmly recounting the events.

Alexander's face was grim as he watched Sarah crying and exaggerating, trying to push all the blame onto Wendy, painting her as a jealous and malicious woman, which only fueled his anger.

"Mr. Carl Turner, you must stand up for me!" Sarah cried pitifully, as if she had suffered a great injustice.

Carl was irritated by her crying, his veins throbbing.

He frowned and looked at Alexander, asking,"What do you think?"

"Grandpa. I know exactly what happened to Wendy in the garden.I arrived in time to save her. It was also me who led Sarah upstairs,to make her admit her actions." Alexander's voice was cold, devoid of any warmth.

Sarah trembled at his words, never expecting that the scene upstairs was a trap set by Alexander!

Wendy's lips curled into a faint mocking smile. "Originally, I justwanted Sarah to admit her mistake, not to cause a big fuss at the party.Who knew Sarah would be so stubborn, lying even now, refusing to give up until she's completely defeated."

Juniper's eyes widened in anger, her chest heaving as she looked like she wanted to tear Wendy apart.

She pointed at Wendy, cursing, "Shut up! You deliberately set up Sarah.I won't let you get away with this!"

Lydia spoke softly. "Wendy, do you have any evidence for what you're saying?"

Sarah immediately perked up, straightening her back to agree."Yeah! Do you have any evidence?"

"Who said I don't?" Wendy's gaze swept to Francis, nodding slightly.

The next moment, a sharp, piercing voice rang out, "Get lost! So what if I told you to harass her? You've already offended the Turner family, do you want to offend the Collins family too?"

That voice!

Sarah's face turned ashen, her legs giving way as she collapsed to the ground.

It was clearly her own voice, now coming from a recording pen, crystal clear for everyone to hear.

"Sarah, these are your own words." Wendy stared coldly at Sarah, her eyes full of disdain.

Sarah trembled in fear, curling into a ball.

Lydia's eyes widened in disbelief.

She quickly told Ethan she needed to usé the restroom.

Ethan saw her pale face and didn't ask further.

Lydia hurried into the restroom, her heart pounding uncontrollably.

She looked into the mirror, seeing a panicked face staring back.

She turned on the faucet, letting the cool water flow over her fingers, calming herself down a bit.

The cold water droplets slid down her cheeks, helping her regain some composure.

She reminded herself not to panic, to distance herself from this mess, and to stabilize Sarah.

In the private room upstalrs, Sarah stared at the floor in despalr, her eyes empty.

"Mr. Carl Turner, I'm sorry for the trouble. I think It's best to let the police handle this matter," Wendy said calmly.

She was composed, as if this turmoil had nothing to do with her.

Carl couldn't help but look at her more closely, secretly impressed by her courage.

In contrast, he glanced at Sarah with disgust. Such a young girl, yet so malicious and cruel. The Collins family's upbringing was clearly lacking, which could lead to serious problems in the future.

"No! We can't call the police! If Sarah goes to the police, her life will be ruined!" Juniper's face was red with anxiety, sweat dripping from her forehead.

She was desperate, her eyes darting around, and she turned her attention to Wendy.

"Wendy, you can't be so heartless. You were once my daughter-in-law and had some feelings for Sarah. How can you bear to hurt her?"

"Besides, you didn't suffer much, did you?" Juniper stepped forward, almost pleading with Wendy.

Wendy stared directly,at Juniper, her voice icy. "Did Sarah think of my kindness when she did this? I gave her a chance to change, but she kept making mistakes, refusing to repent."
