"Wendy, is this the gentleman you've been waiting for?" Chris, with his keen ears, picked up on the commotion and curiously asked.

In his mind, anyone who could grab.Wendy's attention had to be someone important.

Wendy nodded slightly. "Yeah, this is Professor Myles."

Alexander's eyes swept over Lyndon, feeling a sense of familiarity. HHe then remembered seeing him at various medical conferences.

"Are you planning to invite him to be a judge for the competition?"

"Exactly. If we could get Professor Myles to offer some guidance. I believe this year's medical student innovation competition would be amazing, and the research atmosphere at our school would reach new heights," Wendy said with a determined glint in her eyes.

In Sarah's room, she was meticulously getting ready in front of the mirror.

Even though she was already wearing a sparkling crystal necklace,she still felt it wasn't enough.

After some thought,she picked out a pair of sapphire earrings to wear.

Juniper burst in, urging her, "Sarah! Why aren't you downstairs yet? Do you know what time it is? Alexander is here!"

"What? Alexander is here?" Sarah jumped up excitedly, her face lighting up with a radiant smile.

"Yes! But he's chatting away with that Wendy!" Juniper said through

Sarah hurriedly put on the last gemstone bracelet from the table, sprayed a bit of perfume into the air, and twirled gracefully in front of the mirror."Mom,do I look good?"

"You look stunning, absolutely the star of the party tonight,"Juniper praised without hesitation.

Satisfied, Sarah descended the stairs. She had chosen a custom-made champagne-colored mermaid gown that perfectly accentuated her curves.

The off-shoulder design showcased her smooth skin, and the delicate lace at the hem swayed gently with her steps, exuding elegance and charm.

As soon as she reached the bottom of the stairs, she became the center of attention.

Her eyes quickly scanned the room and locked onto Alexander sitting in a corner.

But when she saw Wendy sitting next to Alexander,along with Chris,her smile froze, and her hands clenched into fists, her face darkening.

Juniper followed closely behind, greeting everyone warmly.

After a while, Sarah took a deep breath, picked up a glass of champagne,forced a gente smile, and gracefully walked over to Alexander.

"Alexander, thank you for coming to my birthday party."

She approached with her glass, intending to clink glasses with him, but Alexander subtly sidestepped, his expression indifferent. "I'm sorry, Ms.Collins, I'm here with Wendy."

Surah's face turned pale instantly.

Her other hand gripped her dress tightly, and the hand holding the glass hung awkwardly in mid-air, unsure whether to advance or retreat.

She was filled with regret and anger,cursing herself for initiating conversation with Alexander. Wasn't this just asking for humiliation?

He was so close to Wendy, but Alexander had bluntly rejected her in front of everyone!

She gritted her teeth, trying to maintain her composure as she slowly withdrew the glass, forcing a laugh. "Alexander, please, have a seat."

With that, she hurriedly left, her retreating figure showing a hint of embarrassment.

Wendy couldn't help but laugh, surprised at how adept Alexander was at using words to provoke. "Alexander, your words must have really infuriated Sarah."

Alexander shrugged nonchalantly. "I was just being honest."

Chris chimed in, a mischievous grin on his face. "I haven't even said anything yet. Alexander and I are both here for you,Wendy."

As the host took the stage to guide the evening's events, Wendy was nibbling on a delicate pastry, feeling a bit bored and plotting how to approach Lyndon.

She knew Sarah had ulterior motives and would likely make a move during the party.

So,she had discreetly instructed Eddy, a usually inconspicuous attendant,

to keep an eye on Sarah.

Before long, Chris hurried back, led by Eddy, his face full of excitement."Wendy,Eddy told me he saw Sarah looking nervous and fiddling with something in the corner."

"She was clutching a USB drive tightly. When Eddy got a bit closer,he accidentally made a noise, and Sarah jumped in fright. It was hilarious!"

Chris dlescribed the scene animatedly. laughing heartily.

Wendy's mind raced as she quickly pieced together Sarah's plan. She glanced at the large screen in the center of the hall. a knowing smile forming on her lips.

"Chris, I need Eddy to do something for me."

"Got it!" Chris responded eagerly, immediately turning to Eddy. "Eddy.go ahead."

Eddy respectfully replied,"Yes,Mr. Turner."

Wendy whispered a few instructions in his ear.

As they quietly conspired. Ethan approached Alexander, his face showing a mix of surprise and reluctance. "I didn't expect you to come."

Alexander's expression turned icy, his words pointed. "I'm here because Wendy is here. I don't want her to be bullied."

Ethan's fingers tightened, his knuckles turning white, his voice growing colder.

"Mr. Turner, that's quite a statement. Who could possibly bully Wendy?But I must warn you, Wendy isn't as innocent as she seems."

Alexander's gaze turned frigid, his voice like shards of ice. "Mr. Collins,watch your words. I don't want to hear anyone slandering Wendy. She was just unfortunate in her past choices."

Hearing Alexander defend Wendy so vehemently, Ethan felt a pang of jealousy. "Mr. Turner, I'm only saying this for your own good."

"There's no need. You should worry about yourself first." Alexander shot him a cold glance before turning back to Wendy.

By then, the host had moved on to the part of the evening where Sarah's life story was being introduced.

Sarah, with a composed smile, gracefully took the stage.

She was thrilled, eager to see Wendy humiliated. "Thank you all for coming to my birthday party. But before we continue,please enjoy a special video."

She could hardly wait to see Wendy's disgrace,imagining herself triumphantly standing over her.

The screen lit up, and in the brief moment of photo transitions, Sarah couldn't resist casting a smug glance at Wendy.

Wendy was chatting and laughing with Alexander, and seeing this, Sarah's eyes flashed with malice.

She thought to herself, 'Just wait, soon you won't be laughing.

Once Alexander saw these photos, he would realize how despicable Wendy

truly was!
