Chapter42 The Night Away
Robert fell silent for a moment before sighing. “As long as Jason doesn't ask me, then I don't have to say a word. However,I don't want today's event to repeat. You shouldn't have brought someone from the Jeremys here!”
Hearing this. Ridgeland sighed in relief, but her expression changed once again.
She spoke resolutely, "He's injured now and may still be pursued. Can't he stay for a few days? Robert, I know what you're thinking, but he has helped me twice before. The previous incident might've offset your debt, but there's still one more. I must repay him!"
Westfield laughed and reminded, “Redsprings, please stop speaking nonsense. We're at her house right now, so don't let anyone hear us!"
"Well, I do Kyle Anderson is quite suitable for you!" Redsprings smiled and helped Westfield apply medicine, his tone serious.
In fact, Robert's appearance made him realize that Ridgeland wasn't simple. Right now, he obviously wanted to find someone who could help Westfield. Furthermore, he could also see that Ridgeland had developed feelings for Westfield.Otherwise, she wouldn't have bravely protected him and risked everything to Michael Cox out just now!
Westfield didn't expect Redsprings to continue talking. Frowning, he was about to say something when there was a knock on the door.
Immediately after, Ridgeland walked in.
She worriedly asked,“Westfield, are your injuries serious? Should I call a doctor to come check on you?"
With his complexion seemingly normal again, Westfield smiled calmly to Ridgeland as he replied, "I'm fine, Redsprings just helped treat it for me. How could it be serious? Autumnheights be fine after a few days!"
“Good, then just stay here for those few days. Autumnheights go prepare dinner for you," she said and turned to leave.
However, Westfield clearly sensed something unusual from her last gaze.
"Sir, I feel like something's off with Kyle Anderson. Her emotions don't seem quite right!" Redsprings whispered, noticing her strangeness as well.
Westfield's heart stirred. Why was she so hesitant and helpless?
He suddenly ordered, "Redsprings, let's leave quietly tonight. Prepare yourself, and make sure Ridgeland doesn't suspect anything!”
“Leave tonight? “Redsprings was startled.
"No matter who she is, we have no reason to burden her. She has already helped us once before! If we directly tell her that we're leaving, she wouldn't agree. Therefore, we have to go quietly," Westfield explained, his tone leaving no room for doubt as he had made his decision.
Redsprings fell silent.
"What? Do you have something else to say?” Westfield raised an eyebrow and asked.
“Sir, I have a New Falls here in Meadow Park. If you really plan on leaving, perhaps we can go there temporarily,"Redsprings hesitated for a moment before explaining.
"You've truly thought ahead, Redsprings!" Westfield laughed immediately upon hearing Redsprings's words.
It seems Redsprings was also prepared for this outcome!
During dinner, Ridgeland appeared to be deep in thought while occasionally talking with Westfield.
Robert was nowhere to be seen, creating a somewhat abnormal atmosphere.
Westfield and Redsprings exchanged glances, finalizing their decision to leave tonight.
After returning to the room, Westfield wrote a letter and placed it on the bedside. After all, he needed to inform Ridgeland why he was leaving without saying goodbye.
Later that night, when Ridgeland had turned off the lights in her room and gone to bed, they both quietly left the house and got into a waiting car by the roadside.
On the New Falls's rooftop, Robert stood in the dark as he watched them getting into the car. There was slight helplessness in his eyes, "It's better this way...
An hour later, the car dropped the two off at a New Falls area near Breeze Resort.
Once they got out, Redsprings led Westfield into the area and casually said,"Wealthy people bought most of the New Fallss here for vacation purposes. Normally, there's only security guards here, and not many people. It's safer for us."
“You always think things through!"' Westfield nodded approvingly.
Redsprings's New Falls was located near a man-made lake beside Breeze Mountain, and it had quite a nice view.
Just as they settled in,Redsprings made a bowl of instant noodles for Westfield and brought it to his room.
He weakly explained, "Sir, since we came here suddenly, we didn't have a chance to buy groceries. There's only some noodles in this place, so please bear with it for now,"
“Don't say that, Redsprings. It's fine. Having a warm meal is enough for now,“ Westfield reassured.
He took the noodles, smiling as he continued, “Having a temporary place to settle down is already more than enough.”
“Sir,did you already expect this would happen? What's your next step?" Redsprings suddenly asked, changing
the topic.
Westfield didn't plan to hide anything from Redsprings regarding his arrangements, responding as he ate. "If Jonathan could frame me, then why can't I fight back?“
"So that means you do have some early preparations?" Redsprings stared at Westfield intently and inquired.
