Chapter 105: Chapter 105

Ethan Roscente had seen through Grandpa Harrison and Grandma Blanche's intentions from the start. He had no desire to attend, but when Grandma Blanche resorted to her usual theatrics of tears and tantrums, he reluctantly gave in.

At the dinner table, Grandpa Harrison's words nearly made him choke. Yet Ethan remained silent, pretending not to hear.

Grandma Blanche frowned at his indifference. "Ethan, Jenna is your wife. How can you treat her so coldly?"

Jenna Roland kept her head down, avoiding Ethan's stormy expression as she picked at her food.

Ethan sighed and turned to Grandma Blanche. "You all seemed to be enjoying yourselves. I didn't want to interrupt. Please, carry on as if I'm not here."

Grandma Blanche paused. It was true—since Milo Roland had arrived, they'd been engrossed in conversation, leaving no room for Ethan to speak.

"At least put some food on Jenna's plate," Grandma Blanche insisted.

For the sake of peace, Ethan reluctantly placed a spare rib in Jenna's bowl.

"Thank you, Mr. Roscente." Jenna was visibly flustered by the gesture.

Grandma Blanche nodded in approval. "From now on, no matter where you are, you must take care of Jenna. Understood?"

"Hmm." Ethan's response was icy.

The meal continued under Grandma Blanche's enthusiastic hosting. Both Jenna and Milo received dishes from her.

After dinner, Jenna excused herself to the restroom.

She made her way to the first-floor reception.

"Check for Private Room 208, please."

The cashier smiled politely. "That will be $3,200, ma'am."

"$3,200?" Jenna's eyes widened. The amount far exceeded her expectations.

The cashier maintained her professional demeanor. "Would you like to review the itemized bill?"

Jenna recalled Grandma Blanche's lavish ordering but hadn't anticipated such a staggering total. Considering the elderly couple's financial situation, she gritted her teeth and pulled out her phone. "I'll pay by scan."

A payment confirmation arrived shortly. Jenna silently thanked her stable income—without it, this expense would have been humiliating.

Unbeknownst to her, Ethan observed everything from the second-floor railing. The restaurant's circular layout gave him a clear view of the first floor.

As Jenna returned upstairs, Ethan turned toward the restroom.
