Jenna pushed open the glass door of Fortune Street Food, greeted by the smoky aroma of grilled skewers. She chose a private booth by the window. Once the four of them settled in, she ordered every signature dish on the menu.
When the server brought buckwheat tea, Jenna's gaze lingered on Sophie. "Your friends left already?" Her fingers tapped lightly on the table.
Sophie took a sip of tea. "They went back first." She paused. "Considering your... history."
Jenna suddenly leaned forward, eyes gleaming. "You brought them to Studio 54?"
"It was Vanessa's idea." Sophie shook her head. "She said she'd discovered a new place."
The realization hit Jenna instantly. Vanessa had orchestrated this to sabotage her. Her peripheral vision caught Ethan's stern profile, and she smirked inwardly—so this was about him.
"Something wrong?" Ethan lifted his gaze, his dark eyes unreadable.
Jenna looked away. "Nothing."
Gavin studied the two with a quiet sigh. They were perfect for each other, if only their feelings aligned.
"Don't mention tonight to Grandma Blanche," Ethan said abruptly.
Sophie nodded. "Understood."
