Chapter 240: Chapter 240

Jenna Roland never expected her casual question would be taken seriously.

She lowered her head to peel shrimp shells, her fingertips stained with red oil. The plump shrimp meat would surely suit his taste.

Just as she placed the shrimp in her bowl, Sophie Roscente's bowl nudged closer.

"Sis, I want some too." Sophie blinked her large eyes, her smile sweet as honey.

Jenna paused mid-motion and transferred the shrimp to Sophie's bowl instead.

Gavin Valentine stared at the plate of crimson crawfish, swallowing hard. Normally he'd have asked Jenna to peel them for him, but with Ethan Roscente present today, he didn't dare speak up.

As Jenna raised a shrimp to her lips, Ethan's deep voice rumbled beside her: "The shrimp looks good."

Her hand froze midair. Turning, she met Ethan's intense gaze, her cheeks warming slightly.

"Peeling them yourself isn't hard." She quickly popped the shrimp into her mouth.

Ethan's brow furrowed slightly as he silently donned gloves. His elegant fingers fumbled clumsily with the shell, managing only a thumbnail-sized piece of meat.

Sophie stole glances at her brother, incredulous. When had this pampered young master ever peeled his own shrimp?

"Watch, like this..." Jenna couldn't bear it any longer, leaning closer to demonstrate. "Twist off the head first, then split the back shell."

Mimicking her movements, Ethan actually produced a whole shrimp.

Sophie discreetly raised her phone, recording this rare sight.

"I heard crawfish carry parasites," Gavin mumbled around a mouthful of snails.

Jenna glanced at the pile of empty snail shells before him. "Snails aren't any better. But proper cooking kills everything."

Sophie followed suit with gloves, peeling as she asked, "Sis, can you cook crawfish?"

"Just need seasoning and beer."

"Let's do it sometime!" Sophie's eyes lit up.

Gavin immediately raised his hand. "I'll buy ingredients if you cook, Miss Roland."
