Chapter 464: Chapter 464

"I don't have plans this afternoon. It's optional."

Ethan Roscente flexed his numb arm. Only after Jenna Roland released him did he realize his entire limb had gone stiff.

"Ouch..."

Jenna blinked apologetically. "Sorry for using your arm as a pillow so long."

"It's fine." Ethan lay flat on the bed, taking slow breaths to recover.

Jenna rubbed her stomach. "I'm starving. Let's order takeout. What do you want?"

"Not hungry. Just order for yourself."

"Then I'll get stinky noodles. Suddenly craving something strong-flavored."

Ethan had never heard of this dish but let her proceed. After she placed the order, he immediately transferred fifty thousand via WeChat.

"Keep some cash in your phone for whenever you want food."

"Your mom just gave me money a few days ago. I haven't touched it yet."

"That's in the bank account. Too inconvenient without mobile payment."

"True. Thanks."

"If you weren't pregnant, I'd have to properly 'educate' you for saying that."

"Haha, the baby's my protective charm now."

"Better remember that."

"I'm going to wash my face."

Jenna stepped into the bathroom. The cold water splashed against her skin, clearing her grogginess.

When she emerged drying her face, Ethan was on a call in the living room.

She quietly sat beside him.

After he hung up, she whispered, "Who was it?"

"Company matter. I need to go in."

"Go ahead."

Ethan kissed her forehead. "Be good at home. Call a friend if you want to go out. See you tonight."

"Okay."

As the door clicked shut, Jenna curled on the sofa scrolling through her phone. The food arrived quickly. She ate leisurely, about to call Stella Laurent when an unknown number flashed on her screen.

"Hello, this is Jenna Roland."

"Miss Roland, it's Vanessa Galatea. You remember me, right?"

Jenna's fingers froze. Of course she remembered that name—just not why this woman would contact her.

"Can I help you, Miss Galatea?"

"Mind adding me on WeChat? I have something important to show you." A pause. "You can delete me right after."

"Fine."

Jenna copied the number and sent a friend request. The moment it was accepted, photos and videos flooded their chat.

When the images loaded, her pupils contracted violently.

Ice flooded her veins.
