Chapter 286: Chapter 287

Alexander was just as shocked as Nathan. He could scarcely believe Amy would sink to such depths.

Nathan's voice was tight with anger. "Alexander, Amy is still out there splurging, throwing your name around like it's business as usual. She clearly hasn't learned her lesson. You need to stop being lenient with her."

"Finalize the divorce, get Victoria's medication back, and then we'll freeze her accounts."

He paused, his tone turning icy. "She wants a job, doesn't she? Between our influence and Blackwood Enterprises, she won't last a day in Newhaven. No one will hire her."

"When she's broke and desperate, she'll have no choice but to crawl back."

Right now, Nathan didn't care about making things difficult for Amy—he just wanted to save himself. If she kept spending like this, he'd be ruined before long.

Alexander considered this for a moment, then picked up his phone and dialed Amy's number.

It rang endlessly before she finally answered.

Amy's voice was calm, almost indifferent. "What do you want?"

Just then, in the background, Alexander heard sycophantic voices dripping with flattery.

"Oh, Mrs. Blackwood! What an absolute honor—truly! We're beyond thrilled to have you grace our boutique at Winslow Enterprises."

"Please, take whatever you like. Consider it a token of our admiration. And if you could perhaps mention us to Mr. Blackwood? Our craftsmanship is unparalleled, I assure you."

Amy replied smoothly, "Of course. I'll keep you in mind."

The man sounded ecstatic, his voice practically trembling with excitement.

"This way, Mrs. Blackwood. Our exclusive collection is just inside—these common pieces aren't worthy of someone of your stature."

Amy answered politely, "You're too kind."

"Not at all! If we could collaborate with Blackwood Enterprises, we'd practically be family, wouldn't we?"

Alexander's grip on the phone tightened, his instincts flaring.

"Amy, where are you?"

"Shopping," she said, amusement lacing her tone.

His voice dropped dangerously. "Where exactly? Who was that speaking to you?"

"Where else? The luxury district," she replied lightly. "As for that man? I believe his name was Harrison Winslow."

"He was very eager when he realized who I was. Said he was an old friend of yours."

Alexander's expression darkened.

"The Winslows are under investigation. Anyone associating with them risks being implicated."

"Amy, I need you to come home. Now. Stay away from Winslow Enterprises."

Amy sighed, sounding bored. "Alexander, isn't that a bit dramatic? People shop all the time. Since when does that warrant an interrogation?"

"If everyone who visited a boutique got questioned, the city would shut down."

Alexander's jaw clenched. "Amy, this isn't just shopping. The Winslows are dangerous. If you get tangled up in this, you could drag Blackwood Enterprises down with you—"

She cut him off. "I have more shopping to do. Unless it's urgent, I'm hanging up."

Before he could respond, the line went dead.

When he tried calling again, she ignored him.

His expression turned stormy.

Just then, there was a sharp knock. Gregory rushed in, his face pale.

"Mr. Blackwood, several of our competitors just sent invoices... It appears Mrs. Blackwood has been making extravagant purchases at their stores for days. They're demanding payment."

Alexander's eyes darkened. "How much?"
